If you got it outside of the eu tell them to mark it as gift and you wont get taxed

Doesnt matter if it is marked as a gift or not, its the value they watch for, anything over 40 euro is taxed

i have bought over 50 items from ebay and the only ones that are stopped are ones not labeled as gift.

Ive brought over many nitro cars with values in excess of 40euro all passed through fine once marked as gift.

I also find sellers who send from a business shipping account tend to have there packages stopped.

any way stephen hope you dont get caught, its a real downer if it happens, good luck

I bought a spektrum DX3 radio second hand, was marked as a gift, got a note saying vat was due on it!

Contacted customs and excise, was told it doesnt matter if it is new or old, gift or not, if its valued at more than 40, you pay vat and duty on it!!!

If you bought the Maxx from Tower you WILL have to pay VAT, customs & excise, and an An Post delivery charge.
