I'm looking at getting a printer for a small home office consisting of me (and the voices)

I'm hoping someone could give some help on the matter ... I've tried having a look online (yes google is your friend) but hope someone might be able to recommend something

Basically I'm looking for a cheap enough (100 - 300EUR .. I can spend more if its the right printer) black and white (colour would be nice but I'll assume expensive as a running cost) printer ... speed isn't that important ... what is important are the running costs ...

Someone I know used have .. I think a HP 2200 Laserjet the thing would print loads .. not dry up inkwise .. toner cost maybe 50 quid .. but would print 1000+ pages ...

This should be the kinda thing I can leave in the corner for a month ... and come back to any not have any problems. It'll range from 1 page to a few hundred from time to time ...

If anyone can give any advice it'd be greatly appreciated

    James

Where I used to work, we used Dell 1710 laser printers for sales docket printing, and found them to be great little things.

Cheers Aidan for the reply ...

I spent some time looking / reviewing printers last night ...

Went from monochrome laser to colour ... and back to monochrome ...

In the End it kinda came down to two printers for me ..

The "SAMSUNG CLP300 Colour Laser Printer"
Wasn't getting too many great reviews but was available locally and had colour and a low enough price for colour laser

And the "Brother HL-5250DN laser printer"

Key features that swung it for me ...
    • Can plug it into my router
    • Integrated web server
    • Duplex printing
    • Low enough running cost
    • Its compact

I looked at the dell and it looks good too :) and would have been a lot cheaper ...
