Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've got a fancy party coming up soon and I really want to look my absolute best for it. I've got the dress, shoes etc and about 150 euro left over. I'm pretty confident I can do my own hair so what would you spend the extra money on? A facial, getting makeup professionally done, manicure & pedicure, colonic irrigation.........

I do my own tan with l'oreal sublime bronze, thats like 13e.

Wraps are 70 - 90e or so in most places. You need more than one for best results, but one still makes a difference.

Put the money towards another guitar, and show up at the party in my 5 year old pair of boots, and dirty biker jacket.

I'd recommend spending the money on this:

    1. Manicure and pedicure
    2. Eyebrow wax/re-shaping
    3. Tan
    4. Some really good make-up

Ok, the mani/pedi is self-explanatory. The eyebrow thing might seem a bit out of nowhere, but it actually makes a big difference; if it's done properly it'll really open up your eyes and make you look extra-groomed. You can get it done in most beauticians but it could be worth going to somewhere that specialises in it like the Benefit counter in BT which has a dedicated area for it.

The tan is up to you; have you ever gotten a spray-on tan before, or are you completely anti-tan? It could give you a glow for the photographs so could be worth it.

Finally it might be worth buying one or two pieces of really good make-up if you're going to do it yourself; maybe a really good lipstick/mascara, Touche Eclait, great blusher, whatever. Something that will update your make-up and show that you put in extra effort to change your look for the party.

Ok it's late and I'm not sure if this is making perfect sense but hopefully you get what I mean. Good luck deciding on what to do anyway, and let us know what you choose!

I'd buy a massive stuffed toy to bring along. Wile E. Coyote or Sylvester the Cat or some such. Quite the conversation starter, I think you'll agree. Although a bit subtle for some people's tastes.

I'll get a spray-on tan. The dress is quite revealing so I can't reach my back well enough to do it myself, even with the St T. back applicator. Not sure where yet. I would love to find a spray on that is very light as I'm naturally pale and just want to take the whiteness away not adopt the umpa-loompa look.

I agree that the eyebrows make a huge different. I get mine done every couple of months in BT. I use Lousie in the Estee Lauder counter. She does a great job. It's 15 euro but you can redeem it against any purchase.

One thing I've never had done is to have my make up done by the women at the counters in BT. How much does this cost?

At the most, expect to pay 50 euros, and it is redemable for what ever products you'd like to buy at whatever make-up counter you want your make-up look from. This has been my experience.

Put it on a horse, if it wins you can enjoy the party even more and if it loses you can drown your sorrows in the free booze ! Its a win - win situation :D
