I think that they are FANTASTIC and that every woman* should be encouraged to wear these, even if just indoors (although preferably outdoors too!). They are fantastic.

*Within Reason - of course if you don't have the legs/body/looks for them then forget it, or you might taint the image for life.

    mmmmm cfm boots?

The type a stereotypical hooker may wear?

    mmmmm cfm boots?

I've heard them called fmn boots - I assume that's the same sort of thing? :)

They are excellent, and it's a shame we don't see them on the ladies more often!

Why do I get the feeling shyjoe and sarah_lk are the same people???

    honestly,I immediately think hooker
but that's just the stereotype,I'm sure there are nice ones out there

I've got to go with eo980 here, they're very seductive, but only when used in appropriate situations. They can look stunning on the right girl, with the right fashion sense, or look terrible on someone who doesn't know what they're doing.

I'll just add that the actress in The Devil Wears Prada wore a pair of Chanel thigh boots and she looked amazing, elegant and sexy. ;)

Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman on the other hand wore the type best left to the bedroom. :p

Obviously shiny plastic ones are a no, no, but apart from those ones i think the rest look fab!!!

    Go for it!

Absolutely! They are hot! But obviously they have to be worn the right way on the right legs! I got some knee highs at Christmas and I adore them.

Aye, thats the first thing I think of too.

I don't like them at all ,the pictures linked in this thread (imo) the boots look horrible and make the women look tacky. So its a no from me.

Well, normally I'd think fetishwear, but eo980 is right on with that girl looking very nice.

If you look like this, then yes, go for it:

    apa.jpg

But you're more likely to end up looking like this:

    thighhighgirl.JPG.

I also immediately think of hookers. However, if you're willing to spend the money on a decent, non-shiny pair, like the Chanel ones above, you might be okay.

I've got a pair of patent leather over-the-knee boots (close-fitting, with buckles, quite goth) that I'm very fond of. They can be a great part of an outfit, provided that outfit isn't complete whore.

Btw, the Chanel ones e0980 posted are amazing.

great for over jeans but id only wear them with a skirt clubbing and even then id have a long coat in case ppl think im a hooker lol.you have a pic of them leah

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 575 ✭✭✭JustCoz

If you're not at least 5'8 I think they look stupid. I like them and think they're funky but at 5'6 I would just look ridiculous in a pair. I used to do dressing for fashion shows and the models used to wear them in, obviously they all looked fab in them

If you've got a boyfriend/husband, go for it. He'll appreciate them. I know I would;) I don't know if they're very wearable out of the bedroom though. They polarise people. Some guys will leer at you and make disgusting remarks to you or about you, and some will avoid you because you look tarty. Either way it's not good. Any guy who feels the need to chat up a girl because she's wearing thigh lenght boots is probably doing it because he thinks you're easy, and therefore is a nasty little scumbag to be avoided at all costs.

Calf just below the knee, yes, and love them. But not thigh, cause they hide my knees and restrict movement.

    Fyp.

I agree with JustCoz, if you're in any way short or stout, then you'd be insane to buy a pair. However, as I've said before, the overwhelming majority of them will look hooker-esque and tacky, with the very rare exception such as the other pic Faith posted.

I believe the technical term for thigh high boots is slut-wellies.

Imo im more for the just below the knee pvc version, easier to get away with in decent society, more flattering etc. I have a pair and i love them!

I thought that wouldn't be in question. "Do I not turn you on without dressing up?" Reply: "Yes, of course. It's just that I spotted Feet Weasles in the bedroom. Might be safer to leave them on. Just in case, like". Sad, but desparate times require desperate excuses;)

Korky's and another Simon Hart I think the name is sometimes carry the ones that go up just past the ladies knee. While not quite thigh high they seem to be increasing in popularity and acceptance. They certainly don't look quite as thrashy as the full on thigh high.
See more and more young ladies wearing them at the weekend.

Not to mention that the pair I have take about 10 minutes to peel off!
"Sorry honey, hold that thought while I just wiggle my way out of these" is not a sexy thought. Do I need to get him to sign a waiver though? £Your eye may be taken out by a stray stilletto"?

Oysters, pheromones and viagra? Don't bother ladies. Thigh boots are the answer to any problems in the bedroom. No sarcasm is intended :|

Depends on the person really, I can't say I know many guys who are into thigh high boots. Personally, if a woman brought a pair of them into the bedroom I'd send her out onto the street, if she wants to dress like a hooker she may as well do the full she-bang.

Can't say I know many, if any, guys who find the "street walker" look attractive tbh, but I'm sure you could find some wandering the canal in Dublin, or perhaps Leeson street by themselves late at night.

There's quite a difference to seeing them on a prostitute whom you might have no attachment too and seeing them on your girlfriend or wife. Quite the difference indeed. Seeing them on a 'street walker' as you call it would do nothing for me, but I do appreciate when my GF wears them as on her it's a different matter altogether.
I do believe there are many people who would agree with me on this. I guess all the sex shops that have sprung up in the last few years aren't doing much business at all.

Yes some people are into thigh boots but some are into gimp masks, some like their girlfriends to use a strap-on on them, some like bondage equipment etc. My point is that the rise in business to these stores != more people into thigh high boots, the owners/entrapreneurs just spotted a demand for these products and opened stores accordingly.

I don't care what your personal preferences are, I'm sure we all have things we find kinky/hot, but they're fetishes/fantasy wear, just because yours happens to be hooker boots, does not mean you're in the majority, or even that there is a massive amount of guys who are into it too. I guess the guys who like their girlfriends to use strap-ons would have a similar attitude as yourself though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,018 ✭✭✭✭Kintarō Hattori

C'mon now rb, there is no need for smartness. You were saying that you didn't think many guys would be into it, I was saying that I thought there would be. You then agreed with me that the rise in the number of sex shops was partly down to the owners seeing a demand for these type of products.

You said there wouldn't be many, then you said the 'owners/entrapreneurs' saw a demand for the need for these products.

I didn't ask you to care for my personal preferances, I was merely outlining to you the difference between a 'street-walker' and someone else wearing an item of clothing such as these boots. Clothes don't make the person, the person makes the clothes. You seemed to be having trouble seeing this so I was just helping you understand that.

I never once said that the MAJORITY liked thigh boots. Again you mentioned that you couldn't see many people liking them, I was merely mentioning that I thought they'd be reasonably popular with guys. Judging by the general male response on this thread I think I'm right. I'll mention again that I never said anything about the majority or even a massive amount. That was you plucking it from nowhere.

I really don't see the direct link to thigh high boots and strap-ons, where are you getting that from? Are you saying that because someone likes one area of fetishism that they must automatically like the other?

Really RB. Calm down and think straight. It was a fine discussion until you tried to be smart. Don't take things so personally when someone disagrees with you.

"Street Walkers" wear them because men find them attractive, not vica versa. It's not like it's a prostitute uniform and men want they're girlfriend to dress like a hooker. Prostitutes adopt whatever they think will attract most business. If men were turned on by women in wellies and pijamas, prostitutes would start wearing that too. Chicken or the egg and all that.

    Quoted for truth.

Like anything interesting and non-mainstream, thigh boots when worn badly can look atrocious.

However, when worn with style and flair I think they look just fabulous.

This doesn't look slutty or cheap to me nor does it make me suspect the lady is a prostitute. Sexy, absolutley yes, incredibly so, but slutty, no, not in the least.

    FASHION%20DEVIL%20WEARS%20PRADA.jpg

It baffles me why some people can't can't see the very large difference between dressing sexily and working in the sex industry. The two can be mutually exclusive and for that we should all celebrate!!! :)

it depends on the situation and the type i guess already been said loking plastic shiney ones are a no no. i dont know if i would wear them myself think id feel really self conscious in them esp with a skirt although if more people wore them out think id feel much more confident in them
