World of Warcraft - Accomodation firewall override???

    Ok, I can guarantee that this has been asked a basquillion times but I have just paid for a subscription to World of Warcraft only to discover that I cannot connect to it online at my student accomodation (farranlea hall) because the firewall (I assume) is blocking it. I asked at reception if there was anyway of getting some sort of allowance but just got some big lecture about the internet being for study etc.
    Yeah yeah.. I know it is. But I have just paid a subscription and junk and it will probably go to waste now.
    So, I just thought I would ask, any people here know of some sort of loophole??
    I'll be forever in your debt! :P
