Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Slow response problem in XP... I hope it's not my hardware!!

For some odd reason yesterday i started getting 3-4 sec delays when trying to open the start tab... It also happens when closing sections in control panel. The system just stops responding briefly either after i close a file window in control panel (eg. sytem properties) or selecting the start tab... It happens most frequently after a restart, then after a good hour of the system being on the delays reduce... I wasnt too worried about this originally as i thought a re-install of windows would solve this. Of course, it didn't.... :( Before i tried the reformat i tried many things like checking for viruses, spyware, defragmenting, chkdsk etc... nothing. I also ran a good 7-8 hrs prime run and it showed no errors...

So now the clean install is giving me the same problems, although i have to say i only started noticing them after i had installed everything, for example the windows updates... Could there be an update thats causing this?? I sure as hell hope it's software because if not then its most likely my hardware right!? Also i tried running 3dmark06 and the score is fine, the same as it used to be

    Any idea?

    Thanks.

Recompile Windows Kernel on your AMD CPU, will be faster.

    No just kidding...

I heard that Vista was surprinsingly slow on AMD CPU. Some kind of bad tweaks from Microsoft ?
I don't know at this stage sorry.

The only thing I know is that Vista is turning off the hard drive very often. A Little bit of inactivity and oops have to wait a little bit to take control back, even if the Screen Saver has not been activated yet. I am sure some kind of optimization/tweaking could be done about the energy stuff here.
