Your Bowling equipment

Just thought I'd ask what type of equipment you guys are using for bowling.

I'm currently using a Hammer Black Widow ball for Strike shots and a polished AMF Cobra (old ball) for spares.

Both balls are of course measured for the hand with fingertip plugs installed but I don't use any top-weight or side-weights.

The Black Widow took a bit of getting used to as it really grips the back end of the lane and if the back-end has been properly cleaned it really reacts with the lane! The Cobra is a good solid spare ball, no problems.

So what do you guys use? How do you find the bowling balls you use? Did it take you a long time to get used to them?

I'm using AMF spirit II reactive, it's 11 pounds, and costed around 100 euros. The shoes are some unbranded crap, but they'll do.

People give me weird looks for bringing my own ball to play around here. Guess there aren't many people with their own bowling balls in Galway.

Hi Senritsu, there is now a bowling forum :)Here

Yep, even in Palmerstown where league bowling was quite normal and lots of bowlers had their own ball I used to get funny looks from people when I'd pull two bowling balls out of my bag and start using them.

What's worse is trying to explain to someone who has just picked up your ball to bowl with it that it is 'my' ball. :D

I have a Storm Glow polyester ball with topweight of 3oz. Got the holes drilled for my fingers but haven't had plugs inserted. Haven't used it as much as I'd like so still getting used to it.

Yeah especially when its some 4-yr old toddler who's taken a sudden liking to it and you're trying to prise it from their grasp ever so tactfully :(
