10k Budget.Recommend a car for my wife

Hi All

Looking for a car for my wife. She presently drives a Ford Fiesta but its just to small for ferrying lots of kids et al around the place so possibly looking at an MPV or hatchback maybe but with good visibility as she is not a fan of my Laguna for that reason. Won't be doing much more than 5k in miles a year probably. So what are your recomendations? Any thoughts on the Zafira/Multipla/Focus etc. Looking for reliabilty but then who isn't I suppose?

Volvo V40, can be good value on the 03 diesel models, should be able to get change from 10K if you shop around.

Had a read of that thread alright. She says no to a saloon so that's out the window I'm afraid. It might do me though.

Duplicate link of one of the Tino's you posted. The Tino looks interesting. Anyone have an opinion on them?

Regarding the Tino, they are based on the Almera so ultra reliable if boring but they never really took off on the sales front here. This makes them a good buy second hand but could be difficult to shift afterwards.

Yeah their an ugly looking car alright but if that's the only problem there's a good saving to made on the Tacuma. Going for a test drive on Saturday. Do Opel still offer that weekend test drive that they were doing last year?
