Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

in summary, i think what im trying to achieve here is 'WDS-based bridging'

I got one of those eircom promotion routers... the 25euro netopia 2247.
Can someone help me or point me to a manual that might help me use this as an access point to another wireless router.

currently i use my laptop to connect to the web via a mikrotik router. Can i put the netopia router inbetween the laptop and the mikrotik router and have my laptop go through the netopia router...then onto the mikrotik router out to the web? i.e. laptop through wireless through wireless to web!

When i start up the netopia router, i cant seem to find where i would configure it to attempt to connect it to the mikrotik router as a sort of 'client' ? there is a bridge mode in netopia but i just cant see where the netopia router can be configured to use the existing wireless mikrotik AP. i cant see where i would make the netopia router aware of an existing wireless access point (the mikrotik AP) is this possible??

    any suggestions much appreciated

Is there anything else connected to the mikrotik box ? If not you could just put it in station mode.
If you can't get at the box you could put a script in under "Netwatch" to change it back after a few minutes if it doesnt work
