Didn't want to even acknowledge this ridiculous post until Rob's tourney was over, lest any controversy distract Rob from the important business in hand.

I think you could have done the same, cardshark, and not posted anything that could have undermined Rob's confidence, made him question his play etc, while tournament was in play and you knew he was reading this thread.

I would suggest you might have drawn Rob's attention to these real or imaginary "huge mistakes" (I didn't spot them) tomorrow or at a later date, by PM or MSN, rather than slate him here while he is playing a very big tournament.

guys, thanks for all the messages and support.
perhaps reggie saw something no one else did , but i thought i played quite well.
it was a very long near 10 hours of play in the end, i was shattered.
from a personal point of view, it was a very satisfying result, yes i got lucky once with JJ vs QQ and won a couple of races, but u have to in a near 3k runner field.
And to get it in with KK vs KJ in a pot to give me a large chip lead on the final table, with 254k for the win, might take me a while to get it out of my head, couldnt watch the river, absolutely gutted in a lot of respects.

Sorry Rob was tired and posted it after I saw you make a few mistakes imo but shouldn't have posted that until afterwards. You did really well anyway, was too tired to watch you til the end, tough luck with the KK v KJ.

Anyway a few things I saw you do which I thought were pretty bad:

Super aggro guy with c 200k makes it 36k in MP, you cold call in LP with about 500k. Flop 789 twotone, aggro shoves and you fold. I can't see any hand that you should be calling with preflop that you can fold on the flop.

Biggish stack raises in LP, you call from the SB. Flop AK7 twotone and you check-minraise flop. Again I don't see why you would do that. He shoves and you fold what I presume is an underpair or something like AT.

Then there was one from earlier which I was told about that I didn't see. Blinds are 400/800, UTG moves all in for 1k, folded to you in the CO you cold call leaving yourself 5k ish behind. SB completes, BB checks option. Flop 832, blinds check and you move in. Blinds fold and you show K8. I don't get that one at all. Anyway, I was passed that one on so details may not be perfect.

Those are all pretty bad imo. I figure most people here can take criticism, after all we're all here to learn. Again, apologies for bringing it up in that post while you were still going well, should have waited til afterwards.

Congrats on getting so deep anyway.

That's so sick Rob, terribly unlucky.

But well done on getting that deep, quite an achievement.

the AK7 hand i had a small pp, something like 33, i was pretty sure the guy had missed, we were both deep, i think he folds there quite a lot. It was the one hand in the tourney i dont really like how i played.

the K8 hand, i was on the big blind. it was only a couple of hundred to call.

dont really remember the first one, the tourney went on for over 10 hours, i played a lot of hands.

    .
i dont see anything wrong with this hand at all and can see alot of hands Rob could have flat called with and folded on the flop including 22,33,44,55 maybe 66 .AK,AQ,AJ,JT .
all of these hands could have flat called pre-flop and folded to a push.
