Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Someone gave me a dell inspiron 1160 to have a look at see if I could fix it. Problem is when you plug in the charger to get power in it all that happens is the front three led lights start blinking quickly in unison. Wont turn on or do anything. Anyone know what this could be about? Havent tried a different charger yet.

I believe there is a design flaw in the Inspiron 1150/1160 models which cause the motherboard to short circuit. The should be a panel on the underside of the laptop marked "C" where you can install extra ram (bare with me this is all from memory).
It appears that the chassis of the laptop places stress on an IC chip on the motherboard when picked up a certain way, the chip is located under the "C" hatch and covered up by a black nonconductive film.Do some research on DELL U.S. forums...Im running out of breath...
The solution of reheating the solder around the IC chips joints didn't do the job for me and we hade to call it a loss..
Of course could be a different problem for your laptop.

I was trying a few thing swith it there. When you first plug in the charger it starts to charge like normal and you can turn it on and it starts to boot up. But after a few seconds it will turn off and thats when the three front lights start blinking. Looks to boot fairly normally up til that point.
