Anti virus software?

Hi, My home PC came with norton antivirus and the 6 months free is up. I want to switch to sophos anti virus but it won't upload properly. Is the Norton antivirus software stopping me uploading sophos? If so how do I delete the norton software? I've tried but I'm getting a message saying I don't have sufficient privelege…

Install, not upload, I assume.

Go to the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and uninstall it there if thats not what you have been doing so far. Don't try to install the new one until the old one is gone.
