Great bike, I love it, as an alround bike you can't go far wrong. Upgraded from a 1150GS. Great protection from the weather considering there's no fairing. Also, I commute through rush hour traffic with panniers on without major difficulity. Good luck!
I ordered it this morning. Should have it in three weeks. I am so excited, have a bit of a semi TBH.

Nice one, enjoy it! What extras did you get? We can laugh at krusty and his standard 1200:p . Also, you'll be able to do the whole way round without having stop for petrol:rolleyes:
The worst of the weather will be over by the time you get it, perfect timing. What are you driving at the moment? You'll need to get used to the seat height, i dropped mine the other day!

I am on a zzr600 at the moment, which i will miss.

I have order a few extras. Panniers & top box, alarm, ABS, heated grips. I think that is it.

I am thinking about getting a Garmin Zumo as well.

I am not too bothered about the weather, I got the bike in November and have only not taken it out when it snowed. That said, I am looking forward to a few dry runs.

What about the crash bars?? or are they standard on the adventure?
Think id go for the extra lights too.. Paparazzo will tell ye if they are any good...

The Zumo looks to be the business, gonna go for one meself.

I've got a 1999 Yamaha xjr 1300 and it's fantastic - did 5000 mile around europe this summer without a problem bar a tyre change at the end of the trip but that's to be expected I guess. I cant imagine what I would replace it with other than a newer one.

Its a bit heavy on juice, that aside however it's a joy to drive and will give most bikes a run for their money - mind you cost me 2 points on the Nass Road yesterday !

Yeah, the adventure comes with the bars and cylinder protectors.

Not sure what to do about lights. There is a guy on ukgser that does a mod for the 1150, I am hoping he will do one for the 1200.

I got the fog lights on mine, they're great, but they're an extra. Also got the chrome exhaust, the pipes on the 1150 went a scummy brown colour. I got the onboard computer, which is a complete ripoff at 110 bucks for features that should be standard.
I got panniers, but no top box. I'll get a Hepco and Becker one when i can get the funds together. Obviously i didn't get the ripoff bmw gps.

I hope you're getting the grey and silver faster model

I didn't order chrome exhaust actually. I wonder if I should?

I had forgotten about that, I ordered it too. it is a bit of a rip off.

The price quoted by them for the Zumo seems to be the same as other places, so I am happy enough.

Of course. I did want the new black colour but they are only doing that in the standard GS.

What else am I going to have to change once I get it? Braided lines?

The chrome exhaust is nothing major, just cosmetic, but will look a hell of a lot better in a year.
When i got mine their GPS was double what it was online so i skipped it. Also, i wanted to get my own secure mount.
Braided lines? They're already on it! A nice end can is what my next purchase. Check out nippy normans for some extras and prices. You already found the excellent ukgser site.

We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
