Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Shels out, Pats in.

Group One: Drogheda United, Derry City, Glentoran and Linfield

Group Two: Cork City, Shelbourne St Pats, Dungannon Swifts and Portadown

Afaik Sligo should have got in based on league finish, but with it being an invitational and we were in cup final guess we in. More than likley Sligo being ridden rock solid as we the only Dublin club in it now so somehow better commericaly. But tbh its because all our tv games fekkin crackers :)

I reckon we could do a Denmark on that group.

Pats should coast through that group. They have made decent signings, and Swifts and Portadown are average really.

Only question is who tops the group, City or SPA?

Who cares its better than playing Cherry Orchard or Motherwell in a preseason.

Might get setanta now, have to see the revised tv games.

Now that I think of it, why should SPA, cup runners up ie losers, get a place in the Setanta. Sligo deserve it on merit, it should not be decided on some lucky, and ultimately fruitless, cup run.

The dublin bias is back in force.

But Sligo "lost" in the league aswell. Is a cup run to the final not worth as much as a 3 point gap in the league?

    No.

    Shels dropped out.

The Shels place was a league place.

It should have gone to the league.

To use an oft quoted term. Sligo ridden rock solid.:D

Shels qualified through winning the league. Since they withdrew their league winnning place is then given to Derry. Derry would then basically be league champions and FAI cup champions and under Setanta cup rules the cup runners up would then get the place.
