How many windows, are generally allowed to the rear of a house before planning is required? I'm looking to put three in a three bed semi. Thanks

You are allowed two velux or other similar manufactured roof lights to the rear only!! before you require planning, thats roof lights now, dormer windows require planning immediately

Also years down the line if you require to sell your house,
(if you have installed the two roof lights), you will need to apply for a retention planning permission, to keep the two roof lights

    lol i suppose a bit!

just stating that if he wants to sell he will need it in the long run,
whereas if he doesn't move at all hes fine

He/she wont need permission at any time for up to 3 velux to rear of roof.

agree, you are legally allowed the velux roof lights there and will never need to apply for retention.

but if you are selling the house you may need an architect to issue you with an architect on compliance with building regulations.
