I bought a similiar one from Ebay(China) a few weeks ago. Tried it for a while and it's okay but not as good as expected. Can't seem to tune in Sky box through analogue. I haven't tries s-video yet. The response time is also very slow between changing channels.

There is a TV tuner in any video recorder that you have or buy. Put TV signal into video & then scart or phone into LCD. Recordable DVD may have turner depending on make. Hope this helps.

most lcd monitors only have a vga or dvi connection and cant be hooked up to vcr or dvd, thus the need for a vga tuner box

    Hi All,
Was thinking about getting a Hitachi UT42MX70 42" Ultra Thin LCD screen 1080p HD Ready monitor.
Not sure what the consensus was on this thread, but would it be worth buying this for £500 sterling and getting a tuner separately? Any suggestions on a good tuner? Or would it all be a load of hassle for someone fairly technologically illiterate?
    Cheers,
