So out of curiosity, what do you say to Irish people who do the same?
They have more of a right to do so

Emprix, how about you shut your fool mouth and look at the stats...

What you say is a bit ripe, considering Ireland has one of the highest rates of young male mental illnesses and suicide rates in the EU, yet Coroners here usually classify it as 'Misadventure' in order that family gets insurance and the poor guy can be buried in a Christian graveyard.

Typical Irish hypocritism on your part.

Again, asi said, this was just a lash out, so the figures have changed throughout the years, marvellous. So i missed this, fair enough, i am no hypocrite, i welcome foreign workers here. And if you want to do an online IQ test, we'll see who is the fool.

I would really love to hear the justification for that argument! Why does an Irish person have more of a right to complain about shortcomings in this country than a foreigner who is working here, paying taxes here, being part of the system here, being subjected to the good and the bad of said system, and having the same rights and duties as an Irish person (minus the right to vote, obviously)???

Foreigners have one advantage when they complain about a country - they do have something to compare it to - their own country. A lot of Irish people do not have this advantage, never having lived outside Ireland before.

And while I love it here, and enjoy living here, and plan to stay here long-term, there are a lot of problems that other countries do not have (or at least not to that extend) - the crappy health system for example. Or the crappy roads and public transport system.

On the other hand, Ireland has a lot of great things to offer, such as low taxes, a fairly hassle-free and, in my opinion, relaxed administration (ever try to submit a tax return in Germany? Hours of enjoyment...), etcetc.

    Just my two cents...

Trust me, we would not be here if we had an option (Internet, food, house prices, dress code by the locals to mention a few) but due to Ireland being considered a third world country (serious EU cash inflow) and being allowed to offer more tax discounts and paying companies to move here from our countries...

....but I can say hands down I've seen a higher percentage of Irish coming in late/hangover/drunk/calling in sick then I see foreigners as a population as whole at work.

Well don't let us drunk - hiccup - Irish hold you up any longer.

Seconded. At least foreigners can be objective when they do complain.

When I worked in Franfurt the cleaner of my apt called my then-client (who was paying for the apt) to complain about me spilling half-a-tube of Pringles beside the bed (middle of the night sub-drunken Pringles grope in the darkness). Germany in a nutshell.

While the Irish public sector may be a bit lax and may be a bit slow, at least they are reasonable to deal with for the most part.

You don't agree with him or you agree with him but don't care...?!

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Btw hows the suicide rates going back home in Sweden, still top of the worlds list are we? Piss off home if you don't like it here!

Apologies for bringing this up so late but I missed this post until now. If you ever make a comment like this again I will permanently ban you from this forum. Clear?

The same goes for your response Nody. Oh and declaring it a rant beforehand does not mean you can say whatever you want.

This thread is extremely close to being locked. Keep it civil and try to keep the racial slurs out of it (that goes on both sides, any idiotic generalisations about any nationality will earn a ban).

I was just about to ban him nesf, but I see you got here before me.
I'm going to request the Admins to allow site bans for ignorance.

This is one of those times that make me chringe with embarrassment that a fellow Irish man can come out with such unmitagated tripe.

I apologise, it was a post made in haste and a bit of anger, fair enough out of order - accepted and it wasn't meant in a vicious way

I really fail to see how you can make a glib comment about suicide in any other way but vicious.

What you've given is excuses, which in my book count for nothing.

If you took the foreigners out of this country, it would fall apart. We saw a similar problem elsewhere when foreign workers went on strike and caused billions in loses.

Our medical, hospitality and services industries have relied heavily on foreign workers for years and these industries are still badly understaffed.

But by all means, if you want more hospital closures and less facilities countrywide, keep up the ignorant comments, you never know, someone might listen.
