Just got our (new to us) 00 seat toledo...

Everything seems grand apart from the boot wont lock, either by the key or the central locking from inside the car(the key fob needs a new battery)

    anyone have any ideas?????

Its that damn actuator in the boot lid, always gives trouble across the VAG range. The solenoid motor siezes and can render the locking mechanism useless.

Remove the fabric liner on the inside of the boot lid. Locate the actuator - a small grey component and replace it. A simple job - just remove the two phillips screws. You'll get the part at a Seat dealer. I posted a similar post the other day, but for some reason the search won't work tonight.
