Are they archiving all weather clips or just the one from certain years?

Technically, they're all available since RTÉ started putting the files online back in 1999. What you need to do is copy this address:

    rtsp://streaming2.rte.ie/1999/1231/9news56.rm

And just change the date and the bulletin (i.e. 1news56, 6news56 or 9news56) as required. This will only work up until about 2004, after that the address varies completely for each bulletin.

One of the earliest ones is this one:
    rtsp://streaming2.rte.ie/1999/0126/9news56.rm
Scroll to 26:05. It gets cut off at the end.

How do you look at the weather forecast part of the archives? There's a few dates that I had in mind to look at.

Just to drag this thread back up and the snow or blizzard in Feb 27 2001 in east.Where 0227 is the date the 0226 shows the developing polar low in the weather report at the end of the news bulletins.Below is the 27th of Feb.Copy and paste in browser

    rtsp://streaming2.rte.ie/2001/0227/6news56.rm

You will find reports throughtout the news on the snow and on the 36minute a report outside Dublin castle shows the blizzard in the background.Just scroll your media player to 36minutes.
On 46 minutes shows lansdown road under 4 inches of snow and the weather report is at the end.
