Septic tank or Bio Treatment system needed

Confused as to what the planning people as asking me in my conditions, Can I put a traditional septic or so I need an expensive system ?

Here is the text from my planning document:

The design, construction and maintenance of the septic tank drainage system shall be in accordance with the recommendations of the EPA Wastewater Treatment Manual – Treatment Systems for Single Houses EPA 2000.

Sure it is but doesn't really explain the wording in the planning document + 72 pages long !!!!

If you need it confirmed then you'll have to talk to your engineer or better still the planning office. All you can possibly get here is an opinion.

While the EPA Wastewater Treatment Manual – Treatment Systems for Single Houses EPA 2000 doesn't rule out septic tanks most of the councils virtually insist upon treatment systems (county plan or other guidance doc) and your site would have to have a perfect soil composition to meet the EPA guidelines for the traditional septic tank

The engineer assessing your site will probably suggest some sort of treatment system and the usual percolation area. Spending a couple of thousand on a treatment system is way better investment than an american fridge or giant lcd screen for your house.
