i'm also on NTL's 6 meg package and when i download i get speeds of around 500 kbps but any time i do a speed test the download is always around 2meg.

Pity the Paris server disappeared last week. My mates in France loved this speedtest! They don't use it no more...

IM on teh 6 meg ntl package and I got over 5500, I reackon contention is a really big factor with NTL now, at least in some places, cause sometimes MY connection is at a crawl.


I only got 700 to the amsterdam server.

I have a really long ping o dublin though. 124 ms

I think if the speed test waited longer I would get a faster connection.

That's odd, I get much better results in London. Here are my results:

Dublin (Ping 230ms): Down 4658Kbps - Up 318Kbps


London (Ping 89ms): Down 5788Kbps Up 325Kbps

Not bad for a 4Meg line!

But I'm not getting anywhere near 512Kbps Upload. I hope Magnet can sort it out...

I get a better ping to london, But the bandwitdth is worse, it doesnt increase with time as it doies with dublin. it just stays at around 4700 MY upload speed was grand at 515
