Does anyone know what this is about? Its written on AIC's Guitars during their unplugged session, and I heard it has something to do with Metallica, since they were in the audience and such good friends like and Alice in Chains even play a little Metallica riff on the Unplugged CD.

As far as I know it a reference to Metallica cutting their hair

That's exactly what it is from.

Metallica were in attendance at the filming of the MTV Unplugged session and it was Metallica's 'unveiling' in public with short hair as a group.

Absolute classic moment in rock captured on, of all things, an acoustic bass guitar.
