Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Connecting a laptop to a data projector

I've borrowed a data projector for a presentation tomorrow and the only way I can get it to work is by switching the projector on first, and then turning on the laptop.

Is this normal / usual? When I switch the laptop on and then the projector, I just get a big blue image on the wall with "No Data" in the corner.

    Any ideas?

Im using a Dell 640m and a Philips Hopper XG20 projector. Projector Spec

That message means the projector isn't picking up a video signal from the laptop.

Hold down the FN key (bottom left, beside CTRL) and press F8 (which should say CRT/LCD) ... this will send video out to the projector, regardless of the order they were powered up. Be patient ... it can take a second or two for the projector to accept the signal and display it.

You can use the same keypress to stop the video signal to the projector ... i like to turn off the video signal when i am searching for files or switching presentations ... stuff that you may not want to broadcast.

    Good luck!
