No, I now have a new found hate for snow. Cold, wet and slushy...and makes it difficult to walk and drive around :D

3pm update from the Naas Road, right before Regi releases his wrath on the small doggies...

Heavy rain, with a hint of sleet. Noticeably colder.

You'll soon see... or not as the case maybe! :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,726 ✭✭✭✭DMC

    And we're back.

Probably everyone's gone to bed now... very blustery here with the odd small genuine flake in the middle of raindrops. It won't stick....

Not everyone had bad luck with snow;)

I will be posting pics at a later stage.

Right now the parts of the ground which isnt white has a 1 cm layer of slush otherwise the ground is white with a nice 1 cm layer and there is what I think is wet snow falling at the moment. Judging by the NRA temperatures it's at 1 Celcius or mabye slightly above that.

Can anyone offer any hope for Louth as I was dissapointed to say the least when I saw the green colours still in the southern half of the country.:(

But at least I have some snow I suppose...:p

(btw I just missed the window of opportunity before Regi was unleashed. The post was valid at 3.10:p )

Whereabouts are you located? If your details are right then it's a setback. It should be snowing in Meath at least...

Well if its rain in Tallaght I can certainly forget about snow here, Tallaght would prob have about the best chance in the Dublin area.

    5am Naas Road report....

We have snow. Surprisingly its sticking! Nice little bit of drift on the parked car east facing... all this in the last 30 minutes. Nice slight/moderate snowfall at present. At present, its no more than what this area received that Monday morning a few weeks ago.

    5:50am Naas Road update....

The snow shower has stopped, and its not sticking.
If thats all that falls, it should be all gone by the time I leave here.

    6:30am Naas Road....

The tarmac is wet again, only for the grass would you think it snowed. Be thankful for small mercies that its not freezing....

Ruggie, Bristol might just be the start of the heavy snow in England... Devon, Cornwall and Somerset (scrumpy, oooh-arrr!) wouldve got rain, anything further north was due snow.

 WHAT a let down, bloody hell! I though this was 'it' the big event that I've waited for for so long, and what do I wake up to see.......the tiniest trace of snow on the flower beds (so I guess it snowed at some stage) and rain falling.

I have this feeling that I'm gonna be in a bad mood all day! :(;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,235 ✭✭✭lucernarian

Most of the snow that was here has melted. Still a few patches left. Still nothing but this snow grain ****e and I think there could be a bit of rain thrown in. Dublin airport reporting sleet at 1 Celcius. So close, yet so far away.
