Correction - I was watching closely and I see no raindrops - it is clear snow, but very small flakes and nothing stays on the ground because of the wind. But the feeling is there!! :D
    Location: NE part of Galway.

3.9c an awful long way to go still. 1.5c is the maximum for seeing settleling snow.
    dp-1c still good but rising.
Overcast. Not good for night time cooling but temps is still falling very very slowly.
Wind east 10mph-has yet to pick up,probably imminent.
Hum 71%-moisture now being detected in the air.
997.8hpa falling rapidly: bad weather approaching fast.

What do the powers that be here think of the chances of snow in Waterford city tonight? The BBC map shows us getting a whack of it around 9pm tonight.

    Kilkenny City outskirts.

Just had a very brief snow shower that lasted about 20 mins. Very small flakes. Nothing settled. Clouds look full and ready to drop more. Very cold.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,947 ✭✭✭✭Villain

    Bone dry here
Thats either precip thats not reaching the ground or just south of here.
Roslare is reporting rain despite a dew point of -3c though their temp is very high at 5c

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,947 ✭✭✭✭Villain

Just missed that attachment Tristrame any chance of another 5 mins? Please

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,329 ✭✭✭arctictree

wow - thats some radar image from met.ie:

    http://www.met.ie/latest/rainfall_radar.asp

Looks like a light band hitting south wicklow around now.

That looks really heavy accross Munster. Should be hitting me about 9/10pm.

I'd say we'll have some snow event here in Roundwood.

I'll be online for most of the evening and will report on events!!
