Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi
Some guy installed a new HD on my brothers PC, and a fresh install of Windows 2000. SOme how or other the pc was immediately infected with 42 trojans/malware etc ( my brother pdates his CA anti virus daily but I think the tech installed AVVG with outdated dat files)

Anyways we got all of the stuff off eventually except this "tibs" thing. ALso the pc keeps trying to connec tot the internet etc.
His CA software (fully licensed etc ) won't run on the new HD until he update s it but he cannot connect to the internet properly, and the download time is just not practical

We tried connecting to my broadband in my place (cable bb) but t just would not do it- eventually recognised the usb wireless adaptor but no luck getting online (I understand these are problems caused by Tibs)

What I was wondering is if was some kina security patch I could download onto cd for him (I have downloaed AV stuff but I can't manage to ave the DAT files on my pc/ cd for use on his )
I hgave no great knowledge of this stuff, just know I got a patch for a troja a while back and wondered was that an option ?

Otherwise if any one else had any ideas ?

(I suggested format disk/re-install OS but the pc is running so so slow dunno if he could ever save his data etc )

    Many thanks

Take the drive out and install it either as a secondary drive on another pc or put it in an external encloseure. Then scan with Anti-virus from second PC.

PLUG pc into router by ethernet cable, download avg antivirus ,do full pc scan.or dl avg from netcafe onto a cdr or usb key.Best not to go near wireless setup until the virus are gone.Turn on the firewall.go to grisoft.com to download the free avg antivirus program.
