Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Dear Knowledgable DJs,

I DJ Deep/Electro House and have been asked to DJ at a 16 year old's birthday party. I've no idea what 16 year olds listen to these days - I'm a bit older!! Any tips to try save my ass...

    Much appreciated!

You're prolly safe enough playing "electro" house actually, it seems to be universally liked at the moment...
You'd be best off just asking one of them though, as Pete said.

Of course I intend to ask them...just waiting on their phone call. It's a house party. I was at my bro's 21st recently and the music ranged from Ghost Busters to Put 'em under pressure (yeh, the Jack Charlton era revived!) so it will be very interesting to hear what gets that slightly younger generation - 16 year olds - rockin 'round the clock (cheesey I know)
As soon as I hear what the b'day girl wants, I'll post for some more opinions...
    cheers.

Thing is with these kids they probably only know Fredie Le Grand - Put Up hands up for Detroit, i did originally like it but it's being played to death now.

    Got there before me!!!

When I was younger and I used to DJ a lot more, the requests I used to get off young girls were ridiculous....but that's enough about my sex life.....seriously though, you're screwed (no pun intended). I'm guessing that it's gonna be a load of RnB with the odd charty electro tune, but it really depends on what the kids are into, for all you know they could be Goths.

Lets not forget the "hardcore" trance with chipmunk vocals. That always goes down a treat..
