Can I use a computer which is part of my wifi network to boost or relay the signal to other computers which are near that computer but far from the wifi access point? The computer is running XPpro.

short answer, No.

or you could try higher gain aerial(s) on your AP or centralise the AP

That sucks. In theory could the the right software do this or is it impossible due to the hardware do you know?
