Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    from Wrestle Zone

Irish Wrestler Sheamus O’Shaunessy has followed up his particularly violent role in Irish movie 3CROSSES with a high profile part in the tense prison escape thriller THE ESCAPIST opposite Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare in Love) and Brian Cox (The Bourne Identity).

The Escapist’s Director Rupert Wyatt, who co-wrote the script, struggled to cast Sheamus’ part as TWO TON as it required an actor of substantial size and to be extremely physically intimidating and believable in a prison setting. At six-foot-six and 20 Stone the Dublin grappler immediately landed the role after meeting up with the Rupert in a South City Centre pub.

Sheamus has been on-set at Kilmainham Jail for the past week shooting scenes with Cox and Fiennes as well as other Irish actors such as Liam Cunningham. Fiennes and Sheamus had previously been rehearsing and choreographing their crucial fight scene in both London and Dublin since late January.

Plot: Brain Cox plays a lifer convict in the film. Institutionalised after 13 years behind bars, he learns the tragic news that his estranged daughter is near death in hospital. Desperate to make peace, he hatches a plan and enlists a group of inmates to help him escape from his London prison. Sheamus’ character TWO TON holds a vital component for the escape attempt and Joseph Fiennes is dispatched to retrieve it by any means necessary, all will be revealed when the movie is released!

Is this movie going to Irish cinemas or straight to DVD release?

it's actually a proper movie. with Brian Cox & Joseph Fiennes it's gonna get a UK & Ireland cinema release at least... If it's any good no doubt the US as well...

Cox and Fiennes are becoming a right little popular duo after just finishing Running With Scissors together. That got a US release and by the looks of this movie it's more suited towards American audiences........

But you never can tell, there was a lot about it in all Irish papers yesterday (wednesday)....

Either way it's an Irish guy doing the business and seeing as this is a UK movie it just shows SOS is finally getting noticed.

Fair play to him anyway. I always kinda looked at him as the "WWE" wrestler of IwW, seems like he's living up to that

Fair play! He seems to be doing well for himself!

It's hardly original. Still, fair play, the exposure cant hurt.

Vince loves a guy with movie potential. He can't be any worse than Kane as an actor :)

Expect to see SOS as s side kick to Finlay some time soon.
