My girlfriend got her car serviced back in August in MSL-Pottery road, Dun Laoghaire and complained about the tracking and the brakes. They charged her for a full service and change the brake pads and charged her €600- a hefty amount by anyone`s standards... Last month she was driving down a hill in Killiney and the brakes failed completely. By some miracle she managed to turn into the hotel car park and didn`t crash. Went back to MSL and they charged her €500 for new brake tubing and a new tyre and refused to offer anything for the incompetent service they had provided. The whole purpose of the service was to make sure the car was safe and then the breaks fail 4 months later. Not a nice garage to deal with...stay away if you value your wallet and your life in my opinion.

Price sounds a tad heavy but then as Mary Harney said did you Shop around !!! August to February is at least 6 months and anything could have happened to the brake system in between what mileage did she do post service

Yeh you can't really give out about a job that was carried out 6 months ago, who knows what could have happened in between. You should be just thanking your lucky stars that your girlf isn't badly injured or worse still dead.

Anything could have happened in the 6 months.
What did they do then replace the brake pads?
What type of car is it? Age? Milage? Milage between service and "incident"?
Also looks like the OP just registered to bad mouth MSL (no necessarily saying they don't deserve it in some cases)

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

What the other posters said. From your information there is nothing to suggest above garage didn't perform a proper service

Also, most main dealers charge a lot more than independents

    Closing this now...
