    From rte.ie/business
The price of a basic stamp is to increase from 48 cent to 55 cent.

The Communications Regulator has given An Post permission to increase the price from March 1. But prices for large letters sized between 50g to 100g will fall from 60 cent to 55 cent.

Business customers using franking machines will get a discount of one cent per item. They will pay 54 cent to send a basic letter.

An Post said it had absorbed significant cost increases including wage increases of 18.9% since 2003. It said the new prices in general would increase costs to consumers by slightly less than inflation.
