Somewhere like http://www.gay-ireland.com/QA/ might be a place to find one or two, I guess.

    The George?!?!
Try Q&A in temple bar music centre, theres all sorts at that:rolleyes:

Ireland is quite mixed when it comes to the gay scene. You don't really get "specialist" bars.

Q+A would be quite a good bet. It's still mixed but does tend to lean more towards the Indie scene than the "River Island and Kylie" scene.

You should find a few in the George, realistically. And also in random non-gay places; Dublin is opening up a bit.

Q+A which stands for Queer and Alternative is on in the temple bar music centre on Friday March 9th from 11 - with a pre-party in Gubu from 8...
If you dont find your Romeo in there - you're in trouble!

Sorry to dig this up, but just wanted to ask if anyone knew of any places outside Dublin where there are any gay places for rockers? Long hair and an optional goatee do it for me, and never seem to see any gay fellas who are into rock music (not emo, or ones who wear skinny jeans and have their hair perfecly styled), anywhere outside of England. Aargh! It's not fair!

I know what you're saying, Paddy C. Hard to find genuine gay 'rocker' types on the scene.

Not actually sure if 'rocker' is the right term for what I've got in mind though.. but those bloody 'Emo' types are the absolute antithesis of the genuine, cool, laid-back 'rocker type' I'd be looking out for - and yes they're bloody everywhere. Pretty enough to look at maybe, but 'Pretty Vacant' can't help but bubble into the mind. I'd also have a hard time telling them apart from one another. Not so much a style as a uniform.

hmm.. I seem to have found myself in a ranting mood today. Oh well.

I feel that a lot of hot guys are in hiding because they are bored with the predictable, safeness of little game played in gay pubs. Where's the passion, danger, and sheer challenge. Ah, well. I guess I'll stick to masturbating over my straight friends. Mentally, that is.

Puts on some Blind Guardian, Iron maiden (old skool), mix in a bit of type O negative (thanks to Karl Hungus) and have some cradle of filth on the suffle, ok I'm ready for this thread.

I like my Rock and My old skool metal, but I'd never never go to a gay bar for it. Same way I like cock but I'd never go to the George for it. Fraizers and Fibbers are rocker holes from what I recall in dublin, Brucelles (spelling?) is a fairly up market bar with a solid rock clientèle, more a place you'd feel save scoring your bf in rather then go to pull though.

Yeah you're going to get so much support for trying to relegate a group of people to sub human status because you don't like their lifestyle on the LGBT forum...

    Idiot...

But they're Emo. I thought their whole 'thing' was being down-trodden and misunderstood. Why deny them that which they seem to crave so much? :p

    (joking :))

Oh Zillah. They never could get that humour circuit of yours working right, could they?

originally i was joking, but one of the characteristics of being human is the need for self preservation, the desire to live, emo's lack this, also i wouldnt consider anything human if it labels itself into a genre and alters its fashion sense, music taste, mental condition, deppressive state and suicidal tendencies just to belong to a genre, there more like very unhappy sheep

i have no problem what music you listen to but for a whole group of sub-humans to say 'i am emo' and creating a stereotype that is 100% accurate generates hate in my view, its like racists hateing because they stereotyped the jews or african people, the only difference is the emos created their own stereotype, and its accurate

Ah, but at the same time StephenC_IRL, I think 'kids will be kids' -- and angsty teenagers will be angsty teenagers. I'm sure most of them will grow out of it.

I want a rocker boyfriend! All I can find are feckin' emo's after a shag and then for me to sit and listen to them moan about their lives before and after. Sorry, not for me. We need a good rocker bar and then for it to have a gay night, or just a gay rock bar. Aargh, I hate modern society sometimes!

Suggestion; Stop having sex with angst ridden teenagers.

I'm not having sex with them, I'm just saying that they seem to be the only ones around and when you get into a conversation with them it's usually a whining session then a request for sex. I'm not the sort to sleep around and am actually quite romantic at heart so no random sex for me. I'm trustworthy. :)

I went to freakscene last night, and felt aggravated by every gay around. I get a bit aggressive in clubs sometimes, especially in that place. I feel like a snake in a car park. I wish I could transplant 'Skins' into my clubbinglife.

Just out of interest how old are you?

What's Freakscene? Where is it held, and what sort of crowd/age group does it attract? What sort of music does it play?
