how to limit uploads

    i am watching a football match via streaming on p2p
    my problem is that my uploads are more than my downloads
    i am with ibb
    is there any way to restrict / limit my uploads ?

    what are you using to download content with?

    Yes if you are using any sort of half decent client you should be able to throttle uploads so that they don't choke the downloads on you.

    Those P2P sites depend on people uploading. Restricting it may affect your picture and others.

    i was using ppstream
    its just a media player but its in chinese so i cant change its settings
    in general can i limit my max upload speeds ?
    i have a 1mb max upload speed from irish broadband, but i dont need this and never use it.
    i would like to limit it to to maybe 50 or 100k.
    any way to do this ?

    Is your OS Windows?

    If so, look here http://www.softperfect.com/products/bandwidth/

    or here http://www.netlimiter.com/

    Never used either of these, but if you need BW limiting or application throttling, these should do the job. Too bad they cost €€, but it might be worth it if the connection is shared or you have a provider with a cap..
