Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm making a new one of these out of hardboard with a softwood frame and have the following questions:

I want to paint the cover to match the white emulsion ceiling - can the emulsion just be applied directly to it? It is a very smooth surface.

I need to attach the hardboard to the softwood frame with nails - would the nail heads rust if they are emulsioned over? Is there a way of preventing this?

    Thanks in advance.

    hi.
its not recommended to paint hardboard but if your not going to be using the door to often you could use emu. you would have to touch naill/pin heads with undercoat.(will chip off this way)
best way though is to buy a product called esp.it will make any shiny service paintable.then use undercoat on nails, then finish wth dulux easycare.(washable matt)

Forgot to say, the reason I am using hardboard with a softwood frame is that I am attaching hinges for a trap door to it and chipboard, MDF and plywood are not suitable for this.
