Wonderful game of rugby, after the shakey start Ireland played very well. Well done to France, shame we didn't get the victory for the occasion of the first game of rugby in Croke Park.

Holy sh!t :D, that was entertaining till the last second. You could tell france where not giving up without a fight and ireland made it easy for them by apparently falling asleep.
    Cant believe it :p.

Did you watch the match? They couldn't hold the ball in the first half and O'Gara couldn't kick from his hands to save his life.

That said, the ref cost us the match and Ireland are, undoubtedly, the biggest chokers of all time. NZ to walk the WC and that ref to die a slow painful death.

i think the ref was quite fair.

in all fairness, the ref made bad decisions for both teams.

The only thing that lost Ireland the match was their own sleepy sleepy snoozy snooze. It was an excellent try that won it in the end, and bad defending.

i think the ref was quite fair.

He missed the Horan call, and called off the advantage three times wh Ireland had gained no advantage

Ireland very lucky to have even been in the game after 30 mins. Typical that Tom McGurk is blaming the ref but Hooky not falling into that trap.

    Mike.

All we had to do was catch the ball. That's all. Then hold it for a minute and boot it away...

    Sacre Bleu!

Aghhh was almost pulling my hair out.. fair play to France but Jaysus i thought we had it after the penalty!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,164 ✭✭✭hobochris

that ref made to many questionable calls for my liking... he should be taken out of the rest of the six nations...
When we manage to break free and play advantage and almost get a try...he calls stop of play to make a call of advantage to us and award a scrum to us...
the logical desicision would have been to allow play to continue if your going to award advantage as the irish team have already started taking it, knowing it should be the right call...

i think the ref was quite fair.

When he didn't give Murphy the advantage? When he just happened to miss Horan being obstructed twice? Or, lest we forget, his comments before the match which should have immediately had him taken out of the match?

Great game, its a pity we didnt win, but was a great effort by the lads.
