...have a "I wholeheartedly can recommend such and such a dealer/garage" thread ?

The other way round doesn't really work, because of the legal implications etc, but what about collecting information on establishments that peeps actually had GOOD experiences with?

Any point? Any interest? Conflicts with board rules?

One problem I could see is if one or more people have had bad experiences with a garage recommended in the thread. Not to let them post their opinions would defeat the purpose, but letting them post would bring us back to the legal implications. Pity, because it's basically a sound idea.

It is a good idea but one persons good experience can be nulled by someone elses bad experience.

Views should be aired not mentioning names of companies/persons rather the product should be named and how good or bad it is. People/companies don't deserve the to have their good name tarnished because they are selling a product they don't make. If the product goes wrong, its no fault of theirs. This is happening in garages every day of the week. People come in ranting and raving about the product saying its crap and such.
Why don't they take it to the manufacturer rather than the guy trying to fix it.
The guy trying to fix these things has only the info provided by the manufacturer. sometimes its not enough!!
