bt broadband problem

    I recently signed up with bt broadband. I got my modem installed all software and connected it up properly to laptop. when i typeinmy username and password supplied by bt it dosent log on to broadband.then
    i ran a diagnostic test. everything passed except test authentication with isp. does anyone know why that is.

    It might be that they haven't actually activated your account fully from their end... especially likely if you've only just received the equipment in the post.
    I'd say give them a ring and see when your "live" date is.

    I haven't been with BT for a long time, but you might be missing something in the username... like when I signed up, you had to append an "@iolbb" to the end of the username... maybe current BT customers would know.

    username@iolbb
    password

    You may want to call them to make sure your live. I'm using BT broadband and when I first got the kit, I got the equipment a little before my line was connected, then there was a line fault that took a few more days to fix.

    my username is 'username'@btbb and not iolbb.
    I somehow doubt the OP is iolbb if he's a recent signup, as I've had mine for over a year now.
    Double check the documentation that came with the modem etc..

    Both @iolbb and @btbb work but for new connections they always say @btbb. Give sales a call and make sure the user/pass is set up on your account.
