As far as I am aware, you have 28 days to return goods if you are not happy etc.

So, if you buy a jumper in a shop, get home, don't like it, you have 28 days to return it and get your money back or a credit note.

Out of interest, how far could you push this. If you bought a valentine's card and decided you didn't like it, could you return it a day or two after valentine's day and look for money back. The same applies for Christmas cards, at patrick's day cards, etc?

Moved from AH. Please make a note of the other forums which would suit your query before posting OP. Thanks.

You have no right as a consumer to return goods if you are not happy. You can return goods that are not of merchantable quality or not fit for the purpose for which it was sold. If you are returning a perfect item any refund or credit is at the discretion of the shop. So hang on to the valentines card.;)

No. You're totally wrong. If there's nothing wrong with them and are as described you've no comeback legally.

Yep, there is no legal obligation here, however most places will return items if a receipt is given and the item is still in perfect condition. No idea about cards etc, it's taking the piss a little but could be returned, but it's likely the shop will have leftovers anyway.

You only have rights if it is faulty or not fit for purpose. A jumper you suddenly decide you dont like cannot be taken back. If you speak nicely to the manager he MAY allow you to change it or give you a credit note but he doesn't have to. The same with a refund, he may, if you talk nicely and it is unworn, but you have absolutely no rights to anything.
