    Hi All,

Apologies if this has been here before , done a search and couldn't find anything..

Our cat is about 8 months old and was fully litter trained when we got him, but in the past couple of weeks he has being pee-ing everywhere he can! he does sometimes go in the litter tray but not often. he only seems to do it when we are there aswell. He is a completely indoors cat and we will be bringing him to the vet in a couple of weeks anyway to be neutered.

Was just wondering do you think this might be a medical problem with him or a behavioural one?

    Any help, tips, advice appreciated..

    Hey,
He is marking his territory, male cats have a tendency esp if there is any other males in the house (yes even humans). This behaviour should stop shortly after he gets neutered. Till then invest in some bounty(thes stronger soaker upper!)

I had the same problem with my dearly departed Polly when she was about 6 months old. It was just when she started going into heat for the first time. When we got her spayed all that stopped. Never had any problems with her brother though.

have you changed your litter tray brand? he might not like it if you have. Have you changed what you clean the litter tray with? have you changed where you keep the tray(s) are you cleaning them out regularly?

in other words any change at all might cause this.

also with regards to him marking his territory - any chance you can vring his neurter date forward? if not a feliway plug in may help:

you should be able to get one in the vets :)

My cat did this around that age - I had to delay getting him neutered cos he wasn't well. But it stopped immediately he was neutered

You should be able to move his neutering date forward, he is well old enough to have the surgery. Feliway is wonderful but do note, it doesn't work all the time. There could be other reasons for it, if you are worried, you should always bring your pet to a vet.
