I know someone who bought here:

    http://www.myhome.ie/search/property.asp?id=274853&devid=15572

Now, when it was advertised they said it was "Glasnevin North" which is extremely ambitious if you know where this development actually is !
(In between Poppintree and end of Jamestown Rd in Finglas)

The people who bought in phase 1 are now being told the official address is Poppintree which is essentially the 'munner. Is there any comeback for the punters who purchased there? Their contract says Glasnevin North...

Pretty pointless and very unlikely to succeed given that post codes are coming onstream here in 2008 and this kind of stuff will vanish into the ether.

They knew exactly where they were buying, tough luck imho, if address was so important to them surely they checked this our before making the biggest purchase of their life?

it is actually very close to glasnevin north, generally 'old' ballymun became glasnevin north when 'new ballymun' was built. This includes the older areas south of poppintree park, west of ballymun road. eg oakwood, willowpark, pinewood are all 'glasnevin north'.

I believe there was trouble with the planning on these new developments as they were built in what would have been ballymun and the current residents didn't want glasnevin north extending further and further into ballymun..

either way they knew were it was when they bought it and what 'comeback' would they want?

I know, they were trying to be posh and believed the glasnevin north thing :o

Sure they only have themselves to blame :p

If the "G" word is in a contract with the builder and issued by the builder then there may be a case for misrepresentation but all the owners should take the case simultaneously on the same basis, that their Glasnevin asset is devalued at least 20% by being in Ballymun .

    otherwise LOL :D
