mmm, scram kitty much good? reviews were decent IIRC

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

got it on a discount a while ago. It's not bad, but I found it very frustrating and very "old school" - but not necessarily in a good way. Trying to do some of the more complicated sling-shot jumps to get time-limited Kitties felt very inconsistent, such that it felt like the game was the problem rather than my lack of skill. That said, I have old man hands and unco-ordinated eyes, so it may have been me rather than the game.

Not sure I have room in my life for another Senran Kagura game... might wait till I've churned through Code of Princess first.

Raise your hand if you realized Devil's Third was out this week. I didn't. Might be one worth picking up cheap. Will see what the reviews are like once we filter out the "This is meant to be crap so I don't like it" reviews

    Zis week.... (source)

    Wii U eShop
Runbow (13AM Games, normally €13.99 / £10.99, €11.89 / £9.34 off until 3rd October if you downloaded the Nindies@Home demo) - A colourful action platformer that's been given plenty of promotion by Nintendo and features cameos of various 'Nindie' characters, this includes varied solo options and multiplayer modes for up to nine players. Its different styles incorporate frantic platforming and combat, all supported by excellent presentation; we were effusive with praise in our Runbow review.

Gunman Clive HD Collection (Hörberg Productions, €3.99 / £3.59) - This could be tough to resist, as it combines two of the finest 3DS eShop titles in one HD package; with tight platforming and shooting, along with greater variety in the second game, there's a lot to like about these titles. We'll bring you our review soon.

Zombie Defense (Teyon, €7.99 / £7.19) - Teyon's first Wii U release, which is described as "a modern hybrid of a classic RTS and Tower Defence". With 35 levels and two difficulty settings it promises much; we'll see whether it brings us to life in a review.

    Wii U Virtual Console
Sin & Punishment (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) - Originally only released in Japan, it only arrived in the West once the Wii Virtual Console came onto the scene, giving plenty of gamers a chance to enjoy a terrific action title from Treasure. With an incomprehensible story and lots of shooting it's much-loved by plenty of N64 and Treasure fans; we'll take a fresh look soon, and until then you can check our our Wii Virtual Console Sin & Punishment review.

StarTropics (Nintendo, €4.99 / £4.49) - With visuals that lifted liberally from The Legend of Zelda, this NES title may look like a quirky anomaly with a passive glance. It has plenty to offer, though, with a charming style and some unique gameplay mechanics. A bit of a cult classic, this, and we'll check it out for a review; in the meantime you can learn more about it in our Wii Virtual Console StarTropics review.

Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II (Nintendo, €4.99 / £4.49) - Prior to its arrival on the Wii Virtual Console this one never made it to Europe, courtesy of being a very late arrival on the NES in North America. It's now on Wii U, too, and continues many of the approaches or the original but throws in tweaks and plenty of time travelling. We'll dive in for a review, but until then there's our Wii Virtual Console Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II review.

    Wii U eShop Temporary Discount
    Rayman Legends (Ubisoft, €11.99 / £9.49 until 10th September, normally €29.99 / £23.99)

    Never Alone (E-Line Media, €9.99 / £8.59 until 17th September, normally €14.99 / £12.99)

    3DS Retail Download
Little Battlers eXperience (Nintendo, €39.99 / £34.99) - A game tied in to the animated series that's becoming increasingly popular in the West, in which you customise and then battle with miniature robots; that idea probably sounds fun to a heck of a lot of people. We enjoyed playing this for our Little Battlers eXperience review, but it's worth emphasizing that multiplayer is local only. Available from 4th September.

    3DS Retail DLC
    SENRAN KAGURA 2: Deep Crimson: Waist-Deep (Marvelous Europe, €4.99 / £4.49)

Sin and Punishment is unbelievably good. I hope a release of it means another S&P game like it did on the Wii :) Controls are a bit wonky on it since it's made for the N64 controller and works great with it but it takes a while to learn the game on a standard controller.

    This Week (source)

    Wii U eShop
The Swindle (Curve Digital, €12.49 / £9.99 until 24th September, then €14.99 / £11.99) - The first game led by UK designer Dan Marshall to arrive on Nintendo hardware, this employs a quirky cyberpunk London of 1849 setting with randomly generated stages from which to steal cash. There's an overlying 100 day time-limit as you scheme your way around settings to hack computers and make off with the establishment's money, using those funds to buy abilities and unlock new areas.

Star Sky (JMJ Interactive, €4.00 / £3.60) - This is supposed to be a relaxing game (with several endings) about a man walking through a starlit field, described by the developer as "similar to an interactive poem". We expect it to be pretty chilled out.

    Wii U Retail Download
Super Mario Maker (Nintendo, €39.99 / £34.99) - One of the year's biggest Wii U releases and the showcase for Nintendo's Super Mario 30th Anniversary celebrations, this allows you to create and share 2D Mario levels across four game styles. Packed with clever touches, tools and the ability to produce levels beyond the scope of standard Mario games, along with potentially endless levels to play, we loved this so much that we described it as the "definitive Wii U game" in our Super Mario Maker review. Available from 11th September.

    Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts
    Trine Enchanted Edition (Frozenbyte, €6.49 / £5.49 until 10th October, normally €12.99 / £10.99)
    Trine 2: Director's Cut (Frozenbyte, €8.49 / £6.99 until 10th October, normally €16.99 / £13.99)
    TNT Racers - Nitro Machines Edition (Keen Games, €4.99 / £4.49 until 1st October, normally €7.99 / £6.99)

    3DS Retail Downloads
Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX (SEGA, €39.99 / £29.99) - An Vocaloid-driven IP that's an enormous success in Japan and certainly has fans in the West, it makes its debut on a Nintendo portable. There's a lot to do in this game, from the core experience of rhythm gaming across plenty of entertaining tracks, to outfit and house customisation, and even a terrific Puyo Puyo mode. We gave this a glowing recommendation in our Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX review. Available from 11th September.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon (NIS America, €39.99 / £34.99) - Co-developed by Atlus and Spike Chunsoft, this combines the Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon concepts into one package; there's the squad-based approach and game world of the Atlus franchise combined with randomly-generated dungeons to explore.

    3DS Retail DLC
Etrian Mystery Dungeon: Find a wanderer for me (NIS America, €1.79 / £1.59)
Etrian Mystery Dungeon: Know the Red Pookas (NIS America, €1.79 / £1.59)
Etrian Mystery Dungeon: Find a princess for me (NIS America, €1.79 / £1.59)
Etrian Mystery Dungeon: Find a landsknecht for me (NIS America, €1.34 / £1.19)
Etrian Mystery Dungeon: Slay the Gold Guardians (NIS America, €1.34 / £1.19)

    3DS eShop Temporary Discounts
    AeternoBlade (Corecell, €7.99 / £7.19 until 8th October, normally €14.99 / £13.50)
    AiRace Speed (QubicGames, €2.39 / £2.10until 8th October, normally €3.49 / £3.10)
    AiRace Xeno (QubicGames, €1.69 / £1.59until 8th October, normally €2.49 / £2.29)
    escapeVektor (Nnooo, €3.49 / £ 2.99 until 24th September, normally €6.99 / £5.99)

    3DS eShop Demo
    Samurai Defender (CIRCLE Entertainment, free)

Hard to follow up SMM week, but here goes. (Source)

    Wii U eShop
Year Walk (Simogo, £6.29 / €6.99) - Grim tales, horrifying creatures and cryptic enigmas await in the dark woods of 19th century Sweden.

    Wii U Virtual Console
Mario vs. Donkey Kong (Nintendo, £6.29 / €6.99) - Mario vs. Donkey Kong pits the Nintendo mascot against his old adversary in a unique twist on the platform genre that made them famous.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis (Nintendo, £8.99 / €9.99) - Take control of the Mini Marios and rescue Pauline from a jealous Donkey Kong. In the first Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Mario was trying to find all the Mini Marios, but this time it's up to them to save the day. Use the touch screen to guide Mini Marios through multiple mind-boggling, obstacle-filled levels to rescue Pauline who was captured once again by Donkey Kong. This is a worthy successor to the GBA original.

Tecmo Bowl (TECMO KOEI GAMES, £3.49 / €4.99) - It's 8-bit American Football, which is nice. Not quite the complex, occasionally confusing experience of the modern Madden titles, this has a very limited set of plays — two passing and two running — to deal with. Its simplicity is arguably one of its strengths, and you certainly don't need to be an expert of the sport to enjoy the single player, multiplayer or coaching options.

    3DS Demo
Fantasy Pirates - Join in the adventures of the pirate clan in this free demo.

    3DS DLC
    SENRAN KAGURA 2: Deep Crimson: Hipster (£4.49 / €4.99) - Add-On Content for hipsters

Pokémon: Dancing Pikachu! (£2.29 / €2.49) - This fun theme shows a bunch of Pikachu dancing on stage! Scroll the Touch Screen to make them dance and hear their voices.

Pokémon: Pikachu's Cry! (£2.29 / €2.49) - This theme is packed with lots of different Pikachu cries that play when starting software, scrolling the Touch Screen and more!

Pikachu Set: Dance & Cry (£3.59 / €3.99) - Includes Pokémon: Pikachu's Cry! and Pokémon: Dancing Pikachu! at a reduced price.

Pokémon 151: Mewtwo (£1.79 / €1.99) - This theme matches the high-quality designer look of the "Pokémon 151" clothing line, with a few changes. Now including Mew!

    Special Offers
    Fit Music for Wii U (O2 GAMES)- €12.90 / £11.90 until 15/10/2015.
    Blocky Bot (Mobot Studios) - €1.29 / £0.94 until 01/10/2015.
    Paper Monsters Recut (Mobot Studios) - €3.19 / £2.69 until 01/10/2015.
    Luv Me Buddies Wonderland (O2 GAMES) - €12.90 / £11.90 until 15/10/2015.
    Bombing Bastards (Sanuk Games) - €4.99 / £4.49 until 24/09/2015.
    Spot The Differences: Party! (Sanuk Games) - €2.99 / £2.69 until 24/09/2015.
    Another World - 20th Anniversary Edition Wii U & 3DS (Digital Lounge) - €3.19 / £2.87 until 24/09/2015.
    GLORY OF GENERALS (CIRCLE Ent.) - €6.99 / £5.59 until 08/10/2015.
    Quell Reflect (CIRCLE Ent.) - €2.99 / £2.39 until 08/10/2015.
    Swords & Soldiers 3D (CIRCLE Ent.) - €5.19 / £4.19 until 08/10/2015.
    Fractured Soul (Endgame Studios) - €1.99 / £1.79 until 01/10/2015.

Looks like Typoman was due this week (my favourite of all the Nindie game demos from a few months back), but has been delayed for a bit.

    This week.... (source)

    Wii U eShop
Extreme Exorcism (Ripstone, €12.99 / £9.99 or €11.04 / £8.49 until 23rd October for those with the Nindies@Home demo downloaded) - With a demo previously available as part of the Nindies@Home promotion, this revolves around fast-paced action, with the twist being that when you clear out a crowned ghost in a level the next stage will feature a ghost mimicking your previous moves. As a result each set of stages necessitates good memory, planning and skill to progress. There'll apparently be over 20 weapons, 50 challenges, a story-based mode and local multiplayer options for up to four players. We'll have a review with you before launch. Available from 23rd September.

Nova-111 (Curve Digital, €10.99 / £8.99 until 8th October, then €14.99 / £11.99) - Founded by two former Q-Games (the studio behind the PixelJunk series, Star Fox Command, Star Fox 64 3D) staffers - Eddie Lee and Kalin - Nova-111 is a unique fusion of real time strategy and turn-based puzzle-solving. It takes place over 60 levels and involves saving 111 scientists lost in a time vortex. You can upgrade your ship as you go, which will help to deal with the increasingly dangerous alien forces that you encounter. We'll get cracking on a review.

The Rivers of Alice: Extended Version (Delirium Studios, €7.99 / £7.19) - This one certainly seems interesting on paper, being pitched as an adventure title that can be tackled at your own pace. Its developer boasts of "beautiful graphics made using watercolours, ink and graphite" and a soundtrack composed by the "indie-rock group, vetusta morla". We'll see how deep the rabbit hole goes in our review.

The Quiet Collection (Nostatic Software, €4.49 / £2.99) - This actually includes "four old-school adventure games": Quiet, Please!, Quiet Christmas, Vacation Vexation and Candy, Please!. These titles have previously been released on a mix of iOS, Android, Xbox 360 and Windows Phone, each with their own scenario and rather charming pixel-based visuals. It's a quirky experience which we gave a modest recommendation in our The Quiet Collection review.

Brave Tank Hero (Natsume, €5.99 / £4.99) - A Wii U version of a title also arriving on 3DS, for our money this one's sloppy move to the home console makes it a less desirable option, as explained in our Brave Tank Hero review.

Rock 'N Racing Off Road DX (EnjoyUp Games, €7.99 / £7.19 or €2.99 / £2.73 for those with the previous release on the same system) - Presumably a slightly beefed up version of Rock 'N Racing Off Road, hence the upgrade discount. We're promised more entertaining and exciting races, with loads of skids, crashes and amazing jumps. Several modes of play are on offer, such as Cup mode, time trial and multi-player with the option of up to 5 Players at a time. We'll take the DX edition for a spin in a review soon, until then you can check out our Rock 'N Racing Off Road review, in which we weren't particularly impressed.

    Wii U Retail Download
Skylanders SuperChargers (Activision, €49.99 / £44.99) - This is the first entry in the hugely popular series to feature Nintendo characters and special amiibo figures, with Donkey Kong and Bowser making appearances. That unique feature aside, this new entry throws in races to shake up the standard franchise gameplay. We'll get charged up for a review. Available from 25th September.

    Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts
    Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones (Curve Digital, €4.49 / £3.99 until 8th October, normally €13.99 / £12.99)
    Thomas Was Alone (Curve Digital, €2.49 / £2.20 until 8th October, normally €7.99 / £6.99)
    Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut (Curve Digital, €3.99 / £2.99 until 8th October, normally €11.99 / £9.99)
    The Swapper (Curve Digital, €4.99 / £3.99 until 8th October, normally €14.99 / £11.99)
    OlliOlli (Curve Digital, €3.39 / £2.49 until 8th October, normally €9.99 / £7.99)
    SDK Paint (HullBreach Studios, €3.39 / £2.99 until 1st October, normally €4.49 / £3.99)
    Family Tennis SP (Shin'en Multimedia, €3.70 / £2.99 until 15th October, normally €4.99 / £3.99)
    Suspension Railroad Simulator (Joindots, €7.19 / £5.39 until 8th October, normally €7.99 / £5.99)

    Wii U eShop Permanent Discount
    Disney Infinity 2.0: Play Without Limits (€19.99 / £16.49, was €29.99 / £24.99)

    3DS eShop
Gotcha Racing (Natsume, €5.99 / £4.99) - A top-down driving game that looks rather retro in approach, this adds surprising depth to what could potentially be rather simple gameplay. In order to improve your car (with better parts in three categories) you pick up capsules as you race, and these drops level up along with your car. Plenty of challenges and content is included, and we gave it a strong recommendation in our Gotcha Racing review.

Brave Tank Hero (Natsume, €4.99 / £4.49) - This is a 3D action game developed by Arc System Works; across 50 missions you take on other tanks and shoot for high rankings. You can choose from multiple tank types, which is nice, but we felt this was painfully mediocre in our 3DS eShop Brave Tank Hero review.

    3DS eShop Temporary Discounts
    Murder on the Titantic (Joindots, €5.99 / £4.49 until 8th October, normally €7.99 / £5.99)
    3D Game Collection (Joindots, €4.99 / £3.69 until 8th October, normally €6.99 / £4.99)
    Urban Trial Freestyle (Tate Multimedia, €1.99 / £1.69 until 8th October, normally €4.99 / £4.49)

Looks as though Green Man Gaming are going to be selling Nintendo games, both WiiU and 3DS games. Could mean some nice bargains coming for Nintendo users.

Hmmm. This is odd. I have a feeling that it's because I'm in the UK. Which means that they might not be actually selling Nintendo cdkeys in Ireland then. At least not yet anyway.

Animal Crossing and 1001 Spikes this week. I'd have loved if 1001 Spikes was cross-buy, but no such luck. They should just permanently reduce Shin Megami Tensei IV permanently at this stage. It's on sale more than it's not. (Source)

    Wii U eShop
1001 Spikes (Nicalis, €14.99 / £13.49) — It finally arrives after a long wait in Europe, this is a fiendishly challenging platformer in which you have to grab a key and make it to the exit as the difficulty ramps up. This Wii U version features competitive and co-operative multiplayer; we gave this a strong recommendation in our Wii U 1001 Spikes review.

Pumped BMX+ (Curve Digital, €8.49 / £6.49 until 15th October, then €9.99 / £7.99) - Originally developed by Yeah Us! - a one-man indie studio - this is a title that draws much of its inspiration from that studio's smartphone title Pumped BMX 2. It challenges gamers to tackle a whole load of courses and pull off plenty of stunts - it looks rather like a blend of Joe Danger and Trials. We'll get working on a review but until then you can check out our hands on impressions.

Toto Temple Deluxe (Juicy Beast Studio, €8.99 / £6.99) - A frantic local multiplayer game, in this one you take on three friends in a host of arenas and try to hand onto a goat while the others attempt to steal it. By the looks of it this one's manic and very colourful, and we'll check it out in a review.

Race the Sun (Flippfly, €9.99 / £6.99) - With a behind-craft perspective, you fly through varied environments (which randomise daily) and try to avoid obstacles while keeping on track with the Sun. This one's certainly had some critical acclaim on previous versions and is one to watch.

    Wii U Virtual Console
Medabots: Metabee & Rokusho (Natsume, €6.99 / £6.29) - Great news for Medabot fans as both versions of this Game Boy Advance release arrive, in which you customise your own Medabots and battle villains. We'll bring you a review as soon as we can.

    Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts
    Gravity Badgers (Wales Interactive, €2.49 / £2.49 until 19th October, normally €4.99 / £4.99)
    Spy Chameleon (EnjoyUp Games, €3.99 / £3.59 until 29th October, normally €4.99 / £4.49)
    Darts Up (EnjoyUp Games, €1.49 / £1.34 until 29th October, normally €2.49 / £2.29)
    99Seconds (EnjoyUp Games, €1.49 / £1.34 until 29th October, normally €2.49 / £2.29)
    Puzzle Monkeys (Log Games, €0.99 / £0.99 /until 22nd October, normally €2.99 / £2.99)

    3DS eShop
1001 Spikes (Nicalis, €14.99 / £13.49) — As per the Wii U release above, though this version trades in on-the-go convenience with an absence of multiplayer modes. We gave a hearty recommendation to the 3DS version in our 1001 Spikes review.

    3DS Retail Download
Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (Nintendo, €39.99 / £34.99) - This spin-off in the hugely popular franchise tasks you with designing properties and their interiors, along with some 'God-like' management abilities with the town. This game also brings the début of amiibo cards, though this download version does come with a free 'Office' HOME Theme. We enjoyed this one's charms despite some shortcomings, and gave it a recommendation in our Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer review. Available from 2nd October.

Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden (Bandai Namco, €39.99 / £29.99) - There's been a demo for this one, but the game won't actually be available until 16th October; Nintendo is launching pre-purchases for this on 1st October, allowing you to download most of the game so that you're ready to play at launch. This comes with a download copy of SNES title Dragon Ball Z: Super Butoden 2 for your 3DS and a HOME theme, which will also arrive on 16th October.

    3DS eShop Temporary Discounts
    Shin Megami Tensei IV (Atlus, €9.99 / £8.99 until 8th October, normally €19.99 / £17.99)
    Toys vs. Monsters (EnjoyUp Games, €0.99 / £0.99 until 29th October, normally €3.99 / £3.99)
    Football Up Online (EnjoyUp Games, €1.99 / £1.79 until 29th October, normally €3.99 / £3.59)
    Darts Up 3D (EnjoyUp Games, €0.99 / £0.89 until 29th October, normally €2.99 / £2.69)
    Tappingo (CIRCLE Entertainment, €1.99 / £1.69 until 22nd October, normally €2.99 / £2.49)
    The Legend of Dark Witch (CIRCLE Entertainment, €2.99 / £2.99 until 22nd October, normally €3.99 / £3.49)
    European Conqueror 3D (CIRCLE Entertainment, €2.99 / £2.19 until 22nd October, normally €3.99 / £2.99)

    Wii U eShop
STARWHAL (Breakfall, €9.99 / £8.99) - An intense and chaotic multiplayer title, the Wii U version includes an exclusive new 5 player mode. This mode titled "Blastopus" involves players fighting against each other, and adds a fifth player to the action with the assistance of the Wii U GamePad. We found this to be a delight in our STARWHAL review.

Whispering Willows (Abstraction Games, €9.99 / £7.99) - A narrative driven 2D adventure that was originally on Ouya, you play as a young girl called Elena who can project her spirit out of her body; it sounds interesting as a concept, but we'll see whether it has the right spirit in our review.

Mario Sports Mix (Nintendo, €14.99 / £13.49 until 15th October, then €19.99 / £17.99) - We have another Wii retail game on the eShop, this time with one of the various minigame titles that arrived on the hugely successful little console. This features sports such as Basketball and Ice Hockey, and we had a lot of fun with it back in our Mario Sports Mix review.

    Wii U Virtual Console
Mario Golf (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) - The Nintendo 64 had some excellent multiplayer games and spin-offs, and another arrives on the Wii U in the form of this collection of golfing shenanigans. There are six courses and 10 modes to try out; this was a trailblazer in the genre of podgy mascots showing surprising sporting prowess. We gave this a solid recommendation in our Mario Golf review.

Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures (Bandai Namco, €7.99 / £5.49) - A SNES title from the mascots heyday, this is an "innovative interactive cartoon", or at least as far as a game like this can be on 16-bit hardware; this does also include full arcade versions of Pac-Man and Ms Pac-Man, too. We'll gobble this up for a review.

Dig Dug II (Bandai Namco, €4.99 / £3.49) - Bandai Namco keeps up its run of retro sequels on the Wii U with this Dig Dug NES entry, which moves the action from underground up to the surface. We'll dig in for a review.

Pocky & Rocky With Becky (Natsume, €6.99 / £6.29) - The GBA can't miss out on the Virtual Console goodness either, so Natsume steps up with this action / adventure / shooter; you embark on a quest across seven stages to defeat an evil Hydra Dragon and a army of mythical creatures. We'll bring you a review soon.

    Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts
    Citizens of Earth (Atlus, €4.99 / £4.00 until 22nd October, normally €11.99 / £9.99)
    Little Inferno (Tomorrow Corporation, €4.99 / £4.49 until 15th October, normally €9.99 / £8.99)

    3DS eShop
3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (SEGA, €4.99 / £4.49) - The brilliant M2-developed series of retro SEGA titles given new life on the 3DS continues with this highly regarded Sonic title. When debates are had over the best ever Sonic game this one is normally in the conversation, which at the time added the spin dash to speed the mascot up. We'll check this out and dash into a review.

That's the only real note from this weeks downloads.

I bought that months ago and it's still sitting in its plastic wrap.

Games like Mario Maker really don't help my backlog.

I had intended on getting through it (and maybe one other game in the horror genre like dead space which is another one I really keep meaning to get to) in October with Halloween and all that but it didn't happen which is a shame as its meant to be really good.

Woah, that's weird. Just started playing Resi4 again last night for the first time in years. It's still the absolute best thing ever.

I've never played any of the Resident Evil games, they just look like there's too many cut scenes.
Should I get the Wii Edition?

Definitely you should get it. It's one of the greatest games ever made. As to whether you should buy it on the eShop or buy it off Ebay, that's up to you. I'd personally buy the physical version. It'd be cheaper, I prefer having the game physically and you can lend it to a friend or sell it on if you wish. But make sure you buy it in whatever form you choose. You won't regret it.

Cheers. But now I'm not sure if I should get it for the 360 for the better graphics. Decisions decisions.

The Wii version is the definitive version with all the extra content that the Gamecube iteration lacked and the Wii controls are unparalleled.

And as someone pointed out, since the Wii version allowed use of the Classic Controller, you should be able to play this version using the gamepad in off TV. At least, in theory

My kids might quite like that, and if it ever costs a tenner they might find out.

Affordable Space Adventures is a great game - it uses the Gamepad brilliantly.

I had a feeling Nintendo were going to be stingy feckers with this Cyber sale and it would be pants compared to America. Well here's confirmation, I just checked the eShop and we have:
    • Super Mario 3D World, €35.99
    • The Wonderful 101, €29.99

That's it. That's all we get on the first day of our shorter European sale? *must resist using colourful language*

The next 2 games added to the Wii U eShop for Saturday are Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze and Pikmin 3, both priced at €29.99 each.

And on the 3DS eShop the next 2 are Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D and Ultimate NES Remix, both priced at €23.99 each.

For day 3 the Wii U discounts are.......wait for it:
    • Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush, 30% off, €27.99
    • Game & Wario, 40% off, €23.99

Still waiting for a game to buy. It's likely I won't get anything. If only there were eShop exclusive games, indie games or VC games that could be discounted.

The 3DS discounted games for Sunday are:
    • Kirby Triple Deluxe – €27.99
    • Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. – €23.99

    Just gawked the eShop.

Final day of reductions for Wii U are:
    • Xenoblade Chronicles (9,99€ / -50%)
    • Bayonetta 2 (29,99€ / -40%)

That has to include the original Bayonetta. Makes sense that Xenoblade Chronicles promotes Xenoblade Chronicles X and sure you'll finish it by 4/12/16, just a year late for X. ;)

    And finally for 3DS:
    • Xenoblade Chronicles 3D (26,99€ / -40%)
    • Kid Icarus Uprising (19,99€ / -42%)

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Must be down to 9.99 seeing as its generally 19.99, which I paid for it last week. I'd be annoyed if I wasn't enjoying it so much!

Paper Jam Bros is a "stay up until midnight, download and play until 2am" game for me. Dream Team Bros was a top 3 all time 3DS game for me. It was about 50 hours long (not including NG+) and I loved every minute of it.

I can't wait to play the next game.

Reviews should pop up today.... fingers crossed they're positive.

Lots of 8-9 reviews for Paper Jam Bros (the main criticism being the weak story).
    I'll take that. :)

I highly recommend people buy Toki Tori and particularly Toki Tori 2. For less than €4 for the 2 games it's practically robbery. I'd put Toki Tori 2 as one of the Wii U's best games especially given its sale price. It's the best €3 I ever spent on a game.

Great seeing Zack and Wiki there. Deserves to be played by more people than me and 5 others

It's a great game but its price is completely wrong. It regularly sells for about €10 on Ebay or better yet and handier buy it from CEX for €3.50. No contest and no comparison.

And about that awful European "sale", of ALL 8 games that were on offer only Xenoblade Chronicles and Super Mario 3D World featured in the Wii U eShop charts. The other 6 games never made an appearance. Super Mario 3D World is always there regardless of the "sale" so I don't know if it was boosted much and Xenoblade Chronicles has been helped hugely by the price. It's the only game I bought out of the "sale". I'd no reason whatsoever to buy it as I own several physical copies of it but the price was fair and maybe some day I'll replay it on the gamepad.

If this Christmas is anything like last Christmas, they will have a much better sale on at the end of December. I probably grabbed 7 or 8 games last year in total.
