Double Dragon for the G.B. due for 3DS VC release in Japan this Thursday...not very excited about that one. I'm sure there will be more listed for release in the next few days.

On second inspection this looks somewhat better than I initially thought. I really enjoyed the NES version and thought the GB version would be massively downgraded but it seems very close to the NES version.

My recollection of Double Dragon GB is that it didn't play well at all. If they announce GBA games coming to 3DS I'll start to get very interested.

Fortified Zone heads this Thursday's Nintendo eShop update.

The Jaleco-developed top-down shoot 'em up launched on Game Boy in 1991. On Nintendo 3DS it costs €3.

It joins classic Nintendo game QIX (€3) on the 3DS Virtual Console service.

Meanwhile, DSiWare game Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp (€8/800 Nintendo DSi Points) and Puzzle Fever (€5/500 Nintendo DSi Points) launch on the eShop for 3DS and DSi.

This week's headline WiiWare game is Anima Ark of Sinners. Grab it from the Wii Shop Channel for 1000 Wii Points.

Nothing official yet but wiki says Xevious 3D and Mario Picross are slated for a July release date. I have a feeling we'll get both of them this Thursday. If so that's two quality games. I wonder how much we'll be charged for classic 3D remakes of NES games...

(Just realised my post is 666 on this thread...)

you're best to check what games are on it. The game and watch games can be surprisingly playable, Donkey Kong Jr is fantastic.

Best version of Xevious ever. The 3-D really works well.

Another miss this week for me. I can't understand why we're getting one mediocre and obscure game per week when there's so many G.B. G.B.C. G.G. etc out there that people actually want. The last really good game was Donkey Kong 94 which was ages ago.

Either of those would be great.

At least the September 1st update is gonna be decent...still haven't had a proper play through of the original super mario bros + the legend of zelda tbh :P

That would involved getting capcom on board (easy) and then getting disney to relicense duck tales (next to impossible and not worth the money). You won't be seeing it on the eshop, which is unfortunate since it's a great game.

    Some fantastic GB games there!

Only ever played Super Mario Land 2 (and not to completion) out of those so pretty stoked!
Also on the dsiware front....Four Swords in September and Cave Story is still slated to come out but is TBC Q4 :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,529 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Isn't Cave Story 3D a retail boxed game?

I also read on Eurogamer that Four Swords is free (to celebrate Zelda's 25th Anniversary). :)

    Just one release basically today...
The DSiware title 1950s Lawn Mower Kids by Zordix - 500pts/€5

Oh and the 10 Ambassador titles of course :D
    Super Mario Bros.
    The Legend of Zelda
    Ice Climber
    Balloon Fight
    Donkey Kong Jr.
    Wrecking Crew
    NES Open Tournament Golf
    Mario & Yoshi
    Metroid
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

    Nintendo eShop update: 15/09/11

    Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge (3DS) - £3.50/€4
    Cosmos X2 (DSiWare) - £1.50/€2, 200 DSi
Kyotokei (WiiWare) - 500 Wii Points
MotoHeroz (WiiWare) - 1500 Wii Points

MotoHeroz is by RedLynx (the guys who made Trials for XBLA). Looks pretty good actually. Multiplayer looks a bit annoying, but watch for about a minute to see the single player....

    Nintendo eShop update: 22/09/11

    3D Classics TwinBee (3DS) - €5
Anonymous Notes Chapter 2 - From The Abyss - (DSiWare) - €2, 200 DSi Points
Cut The Rope (DSiWare) - €5, 500 DSi Points
101-in-1 Explosive Megamix (WiiWare) - 700 Wii Points

Classic DSiWare problem - why pay a fiver for Cut The Rope when it's €0.79 on iOS and €0.68 on Android?
