Those sites that Mr E named. Also, Neogaf and GoNintendo. Whoever has it first. I'm sorry I bought some of these games before now. I've not played most of them yet and I could have saved myself a lot of money. I hope you all go nuts. Stealth Inc. 2 at €1.99. No excuses people.

Minecraft and its DLC is mad. If you buy the lot, it's €71. Eh, no thanks.

Last few hours to buy Toki Tori 2 cheaply before the eShop update. Looking forward to picking up some games shortly. But I noticed these are all third party and indie games games. Where's Nintendo on their own console giving us some discounts? Next week hopefully. There's some VC games I'd like but I'm not paying €10 for DS games that I could play for free if I really wanted to.

Got Toki Tori 1 and 2 last night, along with Fast Racing Neo.
Just need to find the time to play them now!

You won't be disappointed I can tells ya....currently trying to get out of the subsonic league and while I've tried a good few times, I'm not bitter in a frustrated way. 'Course, the rum ain't helping though...

If like me you loved Spiderman 2 on the Gamecube, and have €13 burning a hole in your eShop pocket you could do worse than pick up Amazing Spiderman on the Wii U sale. It's similar gameplay with a huge graphical facelift, but feels a tiny bit less like you're being Spiderman - there's not so much finesse to webswinging (remember how you used to actively plan what buildings you'd swing from and time your swings accordingly, occasionally running along the sides with a quick button-press and web-zipping? Most of that is automatic now :( But the Web Focus option for catapulting yourself around the place and attacking is a nice addition) and a lot of the action is indoors where you're not in quite so much awe of yourself but at that price I have no regrets :D And you don't have to look at Andrew Garfield's impossible hair.

Edit : I should warn you though, the screen tears like a muthafutha on OffTv, it's so frequent and regular that I don't even notice it any more after a few hours of play, but at the start it feels like your retinas are detaching.

Anyone played The Swindle or Legend of Kay?

Not sure about this line in this weeks line up :
    Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked (Ghostlight, €11.99 / £9.99 until 7th January, normally €34.99 / £29.99)
At this stage shouldn't they be the other way around? :D

A lot of sh*te on sale. I hope that's not "the" sale for Christmas and there is more to come next week.

Having said that, there are a couple of titles that I'm interested in. Must grab Super Mario RPG too.

Whats the difference between Mario 64 on the DS and Mario 64 on the N64?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,012 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

I was saying elsewhere that I hope Nintendo themselves remember it's Christmas and give us some bargains. And it certainly needs to be better than the recent disappointing Cyber "sale". There needs to be some action on the Virtual Console front or eShop exclusives because a lot of people own the retail releases.

30 extra stars, extra playable characters, 32 mini-games, and multiplayer.

On the negative side, the controls were horrible.

I cannot recommend Super Mario RPG enough. Played it for the first time a couple years back (obvious, given it never got a release here 'til the Wii Virtual Console), and was utterly charmed. It's essentially proto-Paper Mario, and has some of the trimmings, like turn-based combat with a rhythmic flair.

It is beyond me as to why Nintendo decided that Mario 64 DS needed to be resurrected from the burning chasms to which it'd long since been condemned by game-players everywhere. I can just imagine the committee that realized that the d-pad just didn't do it justice and, in a fit of deadline desperation, resolved to bolt on touch screen controls. At least then you get to pick your poison, if nothing else.

Remember that while some games will remain on promotion for another week, for others the eShop sale ends at around midnight tonight.

I don't if I should buy Olli Olli, I've heard good things about, I'll have to read some reviews but the eShop video doesn't look very interesting.

Whether you’re a Mario master or playing one of his adventures for the first time, you’ll actively jump from planet to planet with the motion-sensing and pointing capabilities of the controller. Mario’s newest move – the spin move – is performed by giving the Wii Remote a quick shake. It’s the most versatile move in the game and can aide Mario in his many discoveries. Additionally, the Wii Remote’s pointer is used to collect Star Bits, which can be thrown at enemies to stun them. Another innovation involving the pointer is the new Co-Star Mode. In Co-Star Mode, a second player can manipulate the environment, helping the player who is controlling Mario by holding enemies in place and shooting Star Bits. The Co-Star can also help Mario perform special high jumps in coordination with the playing partner.

As an employee working the graveyard shift for the next month, your primary task is to keep the tables clean – no tough challenge at all. Unfortunately, there is a rub to it. The old Diner was built on the site of a former Indian cemetery. Amongst the buried, two rival chieftains lay to rest; while alive, each could not stand the other. One chieftain endeavours only to rest in peace. The other, a prankster both in life and the afterlife, is prone to ruffle the feathers of his fellow chief. Besides your tasks as a waiter, it is up to you to keep things calm and not incur the angry chieftains’ wrath. To lay them both to everlasting rest just do your duty. Sounds easy but it is not – promised.

Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty will launch on Wii U on February 11th in both NoA and NoE regions.

The game will be available exclusively from the eShop.

There's a 25% discount for a short period. There was talk of delays and issues about trying to reduce its size to run it on the 8GB Wii U. The file size is 5.3GB. So they abandoned that plan thankfully.

    1. Can you play Mario Galaxy with the gamepad (instead of the remote)?

2, and far more importantly, if ever a game should be given a super hd remake, Galaxy is the game.
