does anyone know where i can buy a candy thermometer? (or a suitable alternative) (not from the internet) specifically shops in dublin. any and all help is greatly appreciated!! thanks! CD

I'm guessing a candy thermometer and a sugar thermometer are the same thing.

Try here you can just go to the shop and buy it AFAIK it's not web sales only.

Yes, here they're commonly known as either sugar thermometers or jam thermometers. Kitchen Complements or Stock should have them I'd imagine.
