    Undergound overground Wombling free
The wombles of wimbledon common are we
Making good use of the things that we find
the things that the everyday folks leave behind

    Uncle Bulgaria,
He can remember the days when he wasn't behind The Times,
With his map of the World.
Pick up the papers and take them to Tobermory!

Wombles are organized, work as a team.
Wombles are tidy and Wombles are clean.
    Underground, Overground, wombling free,
The Wombles of Wimbledon Common are we!

People don't notice us, they never see,
Under their noses a Womble may be.
We womble by night and we womble by day,
Looking for litter to trundle away.

    We're so incredibly, utterly devious
    Making the most of everything.
    Even bottles and tins.
Pick up the pieces and make them into something new,
    Is what we do!

That should clear up the whole whats a womble question :D

Sooooo, wombles are some sort of elite team of McGuyver-esque binmen? Are the powers that be afraid of buckfast fueled tank squadrons firing scrumpy jack shells ruining the match then?

Sounds like the plot outline for a low budget film. I'd love to see it :p

The sunday was a bit easier as there wasnt as many of us(3 v 3) the mad scientist worked good, but we kept it pistols or single shot due to the lower numbers,
The door is a bit of a choke point, but the layout was based on a real life swat situation which wasnt easy, i think it could be tweaked a bit, mabey an 8x4 on its side a few feet inside the doorway so you could get a few people inside to draw fire,
I think it has plenty of scope for expansion and improvment as we go along considering it was the first weekend and i'm looking fwd to next time, also need a yard brush or two to sweep up the bb's as it was getting possible to skate accross the floor on sunday evening.
I cant make it this weekend due to working nights but will be there the week after,

If you're working tonight, please come to my place...that crazy neighbour of mine just attacked me on the way in.

Oh and sorry o1s1n for my totally off-topic post yesterday. I was a tad bit angry when I posted it and wasn't thinking straight. And just to clarify, I do not in any way condone the use of airsoft toys for anything other than legal recreational use. I was not in any way serious about using them to intimidate anyone.

Oh, and I should be good for Sunday. I'm not keen on going anywhere near town on saturday when their is an england/ireland game....it only takes 2 idiots to start trouble and I'd get caught in the middle of it knowing my luck.

Ah it's alright. I feel for your situation. Surely the Gardaí could do something?

I have to go with Nonex on this one. Get a camera set up and if you does it again you've got him bang to rights.

Wouldn't the video be inadmissible in court? ie. useless.

I'm sure you need a permit/warrant to do that sort of thing........ But then I'm no lawyer ¬_¬

If he sets it up inside his house it would count as home security not surveillance as far as I know.

A couple of years ago (when I was a wee lad), I went to my garage to ride my bike to school. I noticed something wasn't quite right. After a brief check I realized my saddle was missing. So the next evening and the evenings there after my dad lay flat on the garage roof for hours on end waiting. Three nights later he saw a neighbour sneak into our drive and break into our garage. He was about to block the garage when our other neighbour opened the blinds and turned on the lights (he too, unbenownst to either) was laying in wait) and messed the whole thing up.

Point is. If the bike is not on your personal property then it could become iffy. It's far better to have an eye witness. I'm sure anyone here would be up to help catch the offender. Just give the word...we could even do it in shifts. Heck, we could make an event out of it. Charge an entrance fee of 5 Euro each for a "true surveilance, counter espionage operation". :D

video can be used in court, if a crime has taking plase, and camera's can be fitted where the public can see what the camera can see.

    Thanks guys.

My bike is being left in work for a few days. The landlord has given the guy until Friday to leave. However, I think it is unlikely that he will voluntarily leave on that day....he may require some persuasion by the local guards or a large group of guys in BDU's :D

I was thinking of moving to a new place, but I'm not going to now. I'm not giving up my home because of this little psycho.

I will be pretending to move out....bringing lots of empty boxes to a friends van, staying at my sisters for a few days etc. If he thinks I'm gone, he'll have no reason to come back.

Only thing I have to worry about is if he comes back in a few weeks and sees that I'm still here. He might have another go at my bike (or me) then.

Anyway, to get marginally back on-topic. I'm dying with the flu, and with all this hassle, I won't be able to attend HRTA this weekend. But, I'm looking forward to the week afterwards though, and the trip to Predator whenever that will be.

A mate of mine was having issues with a neighbour who damaged his car. He put up cameras and caught him in the act which led to a prosecution. Shops use video evidence every day for shop lifters and some times if it is of good enough quality so deemed by the prosecution will be used in court.

you can put cctv in your home but its a grey area as to what you can record. i know in houses you have to have the camera aimed on your own property, I.E. recording your drive way and not recording people on the street outside.
