Smoke Alarm - flashing red indicator?

    Hope someone can throw some light as to what is the issue is, since I don't have the manual for the smoke alarm.

    The battery is replaced a couple of months back, and now one of the smoke alarms is flashing its red indicator. The rate at which the red indicator flashes is rather low - something like once per couple of minutes. Pressing the test button forces the alarm to sound, and that stopped once the test button is released. The green indicator is on steadily...

    Is the red indicator flashing normal? The other smoke alarm is not doing this.....

    Since found out that the battery really needs replacing.....bloody sh*t battery..... Can't believe it as the battery is energizer type. !%£))%*&*@^£;&$
