I got myself a new router as I needed better WiFi and in the DSL stats i find:

    Downstream Upstream
    SNR Margin (dB): 13.8 19.0
    Attenuation (dB): 28.0 13.0

    Output Power (dBm): 8.8 0.1
    Attainable Rate (Kbps): 7776 1352
    Rate (Kbps): 3072 384

Now do I read this correctly, that in theory my line would allow me to get 8000 kb/s down service if Eircom would offer it?

Possibly 6Mbps /1Mbps reliably. The max speed is not usually stable.

Seems to me that that would be the speed of your wifi connection not your dsl, and it would also seem you're getting a rate of about 300Mb/s as apposed to 8000 Mb/s.

not really, youve got a 3mb line, 8-10mb is the maximum possible speed of ADSL. eircom may raise it up that high at some point in the future.

also if you were getting 8mb you would see speeds of 800-900Kb(ish) not 8000Kb
