Still had a great day. Got some quality time with the H&K cordless drill...
Oh, and managed to sweeten up a WE HiCapa so it shoots like a nail gun has the same recoil, but only half the weight of the full thing.
    Backup weapon Me Arse!:D

Bringing yet more fresh meat next week too.

Oh forgot to mention if the peeps from HRTA (paul and mel i think) are on here, I accidentaly stole a face mask from ya's today.,:olol, forgot to give it back with the aeg, will give it back to ya on sat just incase you thought im a well dodgey f*ker., :D

I have a suggestion, and please dont flame me for trying to tell paul how to run his business, cause i'm not.

Many companies do concessions for students and i was thinking of something similar for HRTA. I was thinking about it cause my brother is thinking of stopping because of the cost of playing. Yes, it is great vaue in comparison to Paintball but with a limited budget the cinema can be a more pocket friendly option. BBs are very resonable with €15 a bag(Basically 7.50 a day if your conservitave) but then theres €25 walk on. Yes, with a 9-5 job thats very little but with pocket money....

Think about it in the long term. If you can keep younger players now when they get a job they'll be able to pay full rates regularly. If you look at the UK they have(well now the VCRA is in i dunno what the story is) a very big proportion of young guns. And for the sport to survive you need us. Airsoft here needs more players, the teens of today need exercise, its win win.

So, my point after that rant is that i think a concession walk on rate for under 18s could be benefitial to HRTA and the sport in this country. Please just consider it, thats all i ask.

    Cheers,
    LB

hrta is great vaue € 25 for 6 hours, in comparison to the cinema of say €14 for 1.5 to 2 hours and then add popcron €7, drink €7, and you cant make niose and stay still for the show, that adds up to €28, so there you have it, come to hrta where you can let your hair down for 6 hours for €25, some where safe to play with your aeg, get to talk to new poeple, you can be your own hero for the the day if you like, you may even learn something, might make you look for a job or help out more at home for more pocket money to fund your hobby, give your mam and dad some time out, and we even do a half day at € 15 , come to think about it i should put my prices up for under 18s:D
    ps. kidzone is € 9 an hour:eek:
ps. and remeber HRTA is for life not just for christmas.

jeaus now we have socialised airsoft...:D

i am already paying half my wages supporting the unemployed and colleges...and now i am supossed to pay double so they can get half price?? is that the latest gig??

let me put my mind to this for a second....one sec

we have unemployed /students that need money?? hmmm, wonder what they could do, i am sure we could create a government department facilitating that...or let me see, hmm, maybe, oh i dont know, and i am just spreading this seed of thought out there maybe , THEY COULD GET A FRIGGEN JOB!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 36,167 ✭✭✭✭ED E

Yeah, I'm trying to get a job. My brother is too young though. And thats one thing people always do, yes you have food when you go to the cinema but that does not mean you go hungry when you go to other places, specially not when your running round with a few kgs of gear on your back.

    Anyway, just thought I'd ask.

Fab games and atmosphere, and a great huge thank you to all, Paul/Mel, teammates and opfor. Particular thank you to the teammates, "ZeDers" and others, of course, for the sheer brilliance/enjoyment of seeing good teamwork pay off time and again :)

I hadn't been to HRTA2 yet, and had missed airsoft for a couple of months, on account of many miscellaneous work/family/this-that-the-other things (which seem to increase exponentially as you approach the Zimmerfram Division criteria :D).

I like what Paul's done with the place a lot, the tactical oportunities and gameplay dynamic are tenfold what HRTA1 used to offer (IMHO).

Can't wait to be back, t'will be next weekend or the weekend after that :)

well, the age limit at hrta is 14 and i got my first job when i was 14, spent the summer working so i could buy a playstation 2 on launch day :)

The portacabin rushes were classic!! Real battles for ownership of it.

Myself and Gandalf getting into the cabin and holding cover and then the whistle blowing! we didnt know what the story was and then realised the game was over!

Ah Falls I was wondering who on our team had set off that pellet. That was a nice touch.

well they will be fun for the bus i suspect...need to figure out how to light them a bit easier tho...if we set off 4 or 5 at the start it might be a bit of a laugh...maybe ask the marshalls to do it.

pack of 6 of them for a tenner....and they burn for 90 or so seconds...

  • Registered Users Posts: 36,167 ✭✭✭✭ED E

Yeah, but legally you have to be 16! And nobodyed hire him anyway!

would be good if there was a few metal bins around HRTA that you could put a few of these in and light them so the battle field would be covered in smoke, lol

I would like to remind everyone to please read the charter
    * There is to be no discussion of home made pyrotechnic devices or smoke grenades, how to make them, or the ingredients necessary, this will earn the poster an instant one week ban, you have been warned

the particular ingredient you mentioned is a controlled substance in ireland last time i checked and also making your own smoke grenades at home can be very dangerous if it goes wrong

  • Registered Users Posts: 654 ✭✭✭conor-mr2

    Yea no worries Kdouglas.

Thats what I thought hence asking the question.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

Yeah, but legally you have to be 16! And nobodyed hire him anyway!

Nope, legally you can work from 14 on a part time basis
Employers are permitted to employ young people aged 14 and 15 years on light work:

    * During the summer holidays
    * On a part-time basis during the school term (this provision only applies to those over 15 years of age)
    * As part of an approved work experience or educational programme where the work is not harmful to their health, safety or development. Approved work experience or educational programmes for people under 16 are work experience, training or educational programmes approved of by the Minister for Education, the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment or FÁS.

Edit: whoops missed " (this provision only applies to those over 15 years of age)", that must be new, when i started working it was part time less than a certain number of hours per week during school term

anyway, he can get a summer job next year :)

Thank you ambro, but the big thank you has to go to all the airsoft players, as i all ways say it's the airsoft players that make the games and the site,
so from me a big big thank you to you all,
    paul.
