Where is a handy spot to get a couple of pints and some simple pub grub before a night out at the Olympia? (Somewhere other than Eddie Rockets)

    Thanks

    Thanks ChuckProphet

Yes, I've been there before alright and the food is lovely.

I'm a bit late to the thread. But I'll throw in my two cents all the same.

Darkey Kelly's Bistro on the corner of Fishamble St. and Lord Edward St. and accross the road you've got The Lord Edward (excellent sea food).

Oh, I must be getting confused with that new place "The Bull and Castle" across the road from it.

Probably a bit late with this one...but

Chez Max, opposite the Olympia is good value and nice food! Tad bit dearer than pub grub but worth the extra few €'s

Yea, that was 'The Castle Inn', then beside 'The Number One shop' is 'The Lord Edward and opposite on Fishamble St. is Darkey Kellys Bar & Bistro.

Darkey's have a great ballad session on Saturdays & Sundays (17:00-21:00) if thats your thing too.
