I have yet to come across that problem. . .maybe its because you are downloading mods that have yet to be updated for TBC? make sure it says its got V2 and BC beside the mod if you're using worldofwar and the appropriate at Curse.

What add-ons have you tried? Are they the latest versions? Where did you download them from?

Since add-ons are pretty much all 3rd party, they usually become incompatible after certain patches. Don't download add-ons from places like cursegaming, as they sometimes don't host the most recent versions. Find the website of the add-on creator and download from there.

I downloaded gatherer, coordinates and an atlas from cursegaming - none worked :(

According to WorldofWar gatherer hasn't been updated since 26th of August 2006 so that definetely wont work.

    Atlas Latest Version:

Im almost 100% sure coordinates coders have stopped work on that indefinetely.
Try MetaMap instead, its better anyways:

Make sure to delete the older files before you put these in the folder. Always.

Dont have much time atm but take a quick look around WorldofWar and youll find a replacement for gatherer no bother.

Imcompatible means that they are written with the old LUA language that was used for Wow. In The Burning Crusade (patch2.0 onwards) Blizzard have updated the LUA language and any mods written in the old language are tagged as incompatible. Any addons that are not updated for the current patch but are written in the correct LUA version will be tagged as "out of date".

Curse seems to have fallen behind and isn't a great source of mods anymore.
    Good sites were listed above.

If you don't mind beta versions, you can find the latest development version o gatherer:
